General Your favourite ever warrior?

NZWarriors.com
My favourites need to be separated into different periods - would be Stacey in the early years along with Ali Lauiti’iti from the late 90’s, then along came Villa the Gorilla - man that bloke smashed one on one as hard as anyone I’ve ever seen. Wade McKinnon after that, absolute weapon at his best. Since mid-2011 it’s been all about the younger SJ. No idea who my next fav will be.

So hard to choose one player, but a moment up there for me was Soliola bouncing off a spartan Wiki rampaging. That was brute force, but SJ has produced some memorable moments of sheer brilliance. I think we’ve got a special lot in our young guys that are going to go on and become some club legends. Loved Leiataua’s message on debut, “let’s eat”. Can see Zyon Maiu’u bringing Leniu type intensity off the bench. Can see an enforcer in Demitric and loved the way he told the panthers bench to get fucked as he walked past sin binned. Loved the way Laban ate up Horsborgh shots and smiled back. Can’t forget Halasima with one of the most impressive debuts and so young. That’s just a few

Who would it be for you guys pre 2001? I was probs abit too young but would Hoppe be one of the better players from that era of the club?

Stacey will always be my favourite. Some of the best solo tries ive ever seen. Nothing quite like stacey in terms of his style of attacking play he was quite unique.

Had quite a few favorite players over the years but my favourite warrior isn't one of them. I'm going with Daniel Anderson. Showed for the first time what the club could be. Focused on defence first and earned our right to attack. His tenure didn't end well but our first finals appearance, three successive finals appearances, a minor premiership and our first Grand final appearance with a record of 51 wins, 2 draws, and 39 losses in 92 games speaks for itself. Not to mention the players that debuted and developed under his coaching.

Andersen was a nutcase

One hit wonder

Proved long term success doesn’t come from being an authoritative arsehole. 🔥

Ruined Ali. All on him.

Three seasons in a row making the finals including minor premiership and a grand final appearance. Bit more than a one hit wonder. Ali leaving was on Mick Watson
