NRL.com are reporting Laban will win the bench spot in their late mail

The question I have is does he sub on for Clarke? How do you see his inclusion being used?

I like Laban being included. But that makes four edge back rowers. Ford and Vaimauga also prop. So what's the plan once Clarke sits? How do we get most bang out of these bucks?

I think Demetric comes on for Erin. Laban then occupies the edge bench role that Demetric was performing pre-Walker leaving.

Could be that Leka is Walkers replacement and Laban for Leka. I personally prefer Leka on an edge but having Leka on the field longer is only going to make us stronger in years to come. If this is true this could be the youngest bench that Webster has used.

It’s still fresh in my mind of his debut against bulldogs and his first carry sending bulldogs lock Bailey Hayward flying backwards. Seems to hit the line with impact. It was mentioned during preseason that there was sightings of Halasima training at lock. You could be right

It sounds counter intuitive after we got rolled by Cambra in Vegas but I like the look of starting Ford at lock and having Clarke as the Walker replacement on the bench.

A better record 3 weeks in too. We were 1-2 last year
Looking forward to increasing the sample size to measure the improvements in light of the shedding of a number of established players to date. It actually doesn't feel anywhere near the doom and gloom of Addins departure news before we landed Fish.

That's because of the development of our young blokes this season.

Although I can see the benefits of Leka playing in the middle as Erin's replacement, I can't help but imagine that we are limiting his true attacking potential by doing so. You only have to look at his debut against the dogs to know how damaging he would be on an edge in a 1-1 situation. Leka playing on the same edge with Ali could develop into something special. I wonder whether it makes sense to push Marata into the middle instead.

100% We have Clark, Vaimauga, Ford to do the grunt work.
Leave him on an edge to create havoc.

Going by the Oz punter rd4 tips most have tigs to take out the wahs, which I find astonishing considering who both sides have had as opposition, prob more to do with hoping Tigers have a good season, I actually think we are going to strangle them out the game then run in some points... this is a good game to introduce Healy, he's got attacking flair which we need to replace Walker even though I want Laban to get more runs I don't think his game is what we need here, he'll get his chance soon I'm sure, he's probably first called up if a backrower goes down
people forget that this happened last year too. I think they were 2/3 last year and had just smashed the sharkies at Campbelltown in round 3 who were flying at the time. Media was proclaiming a Benji revolution had started. They then got smashed in round 4 by the dolphins and never really recovered. NRL media is looking for any excuse to pump the tigers up as the feel good story for this year. Totally understandable, but they are only setting them up for failure by building up these expectations.
