Team List Tigers vs Warriors - [Round 4, 2025]

Throwing out this idea that came into my head of how do we replace Walker?

14. TMM

Comes on to spell Clark and shares the job with CHT or CNK comes into the middle.

*Disclaimer - I'm not saying it's a good idea. Just AN idea.
Definitely a strong possibility. I already found it interesting yesterday when he was named as 18th man. Clubs usually find a way to get players in the 17 with the way he's been carving up in reserve grade.

On Ali changing to the left.

If Webster has a season game plan of Berry right and Ali left, and he knew Berry was back in a few weeks, why didn’t Ali start the season in his season long position on the left with Pompey covering Berry on the right?

This just screws up combinations on both sides and wasted 3 weeks of building teamwork for Ali.

I said last year either start Pompey/RTS left for defense first mentality or Ali/RTS for offense but possible cluster F of defense, probably why Webby went with Pompey left, didn’t expect both Berry and DWZ injured

I have no issues at all attacking wise for Ali on the left.

Defence is the question. Most of his grotesque arm grabs have happened on the left....

What he’s doing in nsw cup must be making it tough not to select him even though a tier down. Almost feel like CHT would be better suited to the bench spot as others have said and TMM comes in at five eighth even though CHT doesn’t deserve to be replaced currently

Walker has only been playing about 20 ish minutes anyway so now we know why, probably Healey or TMM for another ball player who can cover Ironman Egan

I know AW has publicly backed Metcalf but if he doesn't start to show his ability on a more consistent basis surely the pressure comes on him as the least performing of the two halves to date. Both Boyd and TMM are doing what they need to in Cup. Boyd's general all round game and goal kicking must be in consideration vs LM 1 in 3 (so far) attacking ability and higher ceiling.

Agree with your thoughts but please understand the difference between NRL and Cup
Tmm was huge last week but up against a non existent 2nd grade defense.
The step up to NRL is huge .

You reckon TMM doesn't have first grade in him anymore?
I think the performance of TMM in his 8 games at 7 last year show he can perform against quality opposition and more than a few times without our best team on the park. Some people seem to have forgotten that and his nearly 100 games in first grade. A couple of times in that run he got 4 try assists in a game I believe. While cup is easily a step below NRL TMM isn't a rookie and has Metcalf come close to 2 trys and 4 try assists in his time playing cup? Would have been interesting to see TMM attacking output behind the performance the first grade pack put out in the last couple of weeks. I can guarantee last week he would have had more than 2 runs for 9 metres if he was playing 7.

I think we need a forward to do Walkers minutes in the middle, so I reckon Laban - deserves a crack on Cup form.
TBH, I reckon Tom Ale would’ve also been a great choice if he wasn’t injured - poor dude.

You reckon Webster would have given Ale a shot?

I have my doubts, and not because I don't think he can do it but Webster has kind of shown his hand with the likes of Bunty & Ale unfortunately.

This seems quite an easy one for me.

Healey needs to come onto the bench.

Absolutely not in favour of messing with the halves. If anything, stability in the halves is even more important now.
That would be what I would go with and play TMM in cup. AW will probably pick them both at 14 and 18 and take two spine players out of the cup side when they are building nicely and putting pressure on the first team.

How is sam Healey's D to slot in at 13? I Haven't seen too much of him but kinda makes sense to bring him in as his passing and running is okay from what I've seen.
Seems to handle himself pretty well from what I have seen (other than the one preseason game where he had looked to lift players a couple of times) he certainly would bring some spark with his enthusiasm. And I don't think Egan playing 80 is sustainable so getting him a spell for 20 ish minutes a game could be invaluable in the back half of the season IMO

Yeah could be a masterstroke and Chanel i feel deserves reselection after last week's effort at 6.

Yup, CHT has been the better half over the first 3 games and deserves to keep the 6 jersey. The team has already been shuffled enough with RTS out and Walker leaving. Leave your spine intact especially with the bye next round.
