The key here was they didn't over turn our tries either. Theirs were more controversial, but there's been plenty of games where theirs would have been allowed and ours would have been over turned which is incredibly infuriating. Every try got awarded so it felt like more of a consistent benefit of the doubt system.
RTS try was for sure a double movement 🤫

Saab lost control over the line 🤐

I'm absolutely Gutted.

Skysport was terrible in the first half and then nothing in the second half until 5 minutes to go.
Really hard to give any feedback when the quality of the picture was so bad.
The bits that I did see were Egan tearing them apart together with Clark who I have given big wraps on this forum.
Worth noting that the team never dropped its lip when the Ref gave some dreadful decisions.
Never lost faith in Webby or our team.
I lost the feed from Sky Sport Now too. Absolutely useless when multiple big games are on.

Well said SJ2K and that is what I was trying to say but you put it much better. If they keep up this benefit of the doubt to the on field referee then it will be a net benefit to the warriors compared to past years injustices done to us followed by an infuriating apology by Graham Annersley on tuesday night.

In past seasons despite that poster posting the correct double movement rule, they easily could have taken rogers try away.

Made up for his first half mess so cancels out

Doesn’t deserve any praise or criticism 🤐
I thought it was great that they never shied away from taking the positive option. Yes Roger jamming in created space sometimes but he was committed to it. Metcal had a few nervy touches early on but stayed positive.
It was a big contrast to the timid performance in Vegas

Just watching the highlights again and the thing I love most about Tauapiki's try is it was a high IQ play.
Tauapiki went across the park and singled out Jazz and Sipley specifically.
It was eyes up footy and something that he created from nothing.

I think that now we've seen he can handle being in the back 3 and the obvious targeting he will get because of his size, I feel the benefit of him being at the back with his hands on the footy more, is only gunna be a good thing for this team. I think by the seasons end well see it as more important to us than what Charnz can provide

Taine at fullback with Ali and DWZ outside him, can see him just cutting through the drifting defenders and prevent rush defense on Dallin like 2024

This post is going to delight John Nick
I have investigated the stats and you can't see much difference between AFB's and JFH's average tackles per game stats in 2024. However to the eye test, just like a poster said earlier. JFH shores up our middle third defence considerably more than what AFB did.

This is a big call but as far as fit goes with what the Warriors need, and we will need more games to substantiate this, JFH may be an upgrade on AFB in terms of fit with the type of team the Warriors are and their strengths and weaknesses.

Defensevily i do agree JFH is just better. Especially in the wrestle. But AFB on attack is just somthing else, i'd aruge better than haas. Everyone knows how good his dancing feet are, but his play the ball speed is insane! He just shakes off anyone trying to stay on him, giving the spine so much more time.

Was good to see Charnz blocking Saab in the last play of first half like a goalkeeper defending outside the box, otherwise could be a try there

Yes Metcalf perfect with the boot was crucial it could easily have been 20:16 instead of 24:16 or 26:16 instead of 30:16 in the last quarter. Like his chipping style with a light bend that usually bounce over even if hitting the post

Walker was he injured or rested? Seem less minutess

Bench use was probably good for the two kids if they do do come on earlier when the pack was tiring in the future, pack was dominating so was ok to unleash them for the entire 4th quarter and build their fitness

What l also love about Tuapiki is for a small body he doesn’t shy away from contact. A brick wall could be in front of him and hes not afraid to hit the line hard.

He’s special. Love watching him every time he gets the ball.

He dropped the biscuits yesterday but that’s more an exception than the norm.

That try he created all himself. Out of nothing. What would Kosi or DWZ have done in that play i I wonder? Get tackled and turn it over of course.

Watching the replay it was obvious how much Vegas played on our minds for the first 15-20mins. We looked to cautious afraid to make a mistake and when Manly scored it started to look like De Ja Vu, had they scored one of their bombed tries or gone for the try instead of the 2 it probably would have been enough for them to go on with it the way both teams were playing.
Luckily Manly did make those costly mistakes and it was like a switch turned on once we got that first try and we were a different team- the proverbial monkey was off our back.
As for the contentious calls… as a fan base we are quick to jump on the defensive and see every wrong as part of a great conspiracy against us, now I am just as guilty as the rest in the heat of the moment. However, when looking at them a bit more objectively;
Saab try- yeah he dropped it BUT had a finger in contact when the ball was on the line- people are talking “downward pressure” and “control”, which he had none, as not the current rules. Although didn’t deserve a try it couldn’t be taken away under the current rules.
DCE try was pretty bloody close and I thought I saw the foot touch the line, the is one frame where it’s a bit more in question. Onus is on the bunker to prove it’s NOT a try- which they couldn’t conclusively do.
This seems to be the Manly fan consensus and if we are being honest we’d likely sing the same tune if we had scored those.
From the other side there has been complaints about 3 of our tries too;
Taines try there’s claims of obstruction-general consensus is there isn’t.
Evan’s try there’s claims of held up- think he got it down on the initial attempt but it’s close enough to have a look but didn’t seem to get any scrutiny.
RTS try there’s a bit of a case for a double movement but I think momentum from the tackler which would have gotten him there anyway. One thing not scrutinised but saw from a Manly fan is that CHT puts a foot out and trips DCE which causes the space for RTS to go through. Looks like a collision at first look but it looks like cht intended to do it.
All I’m saying is that whilst we obviously get aggrieved at what doesn’t go or way- calls go both ways.
Manly seem to be more aggrieved about the lopsided 6 again count, whilst I doubt we were saints I’m glad this wasn’t artificially evened out to pad the stats and it did seem a deliberate Manly tactic to concede a 6 again after a break or error on the first to give their line a better chance to reset. There was a stage after the binning where it did shift into taking the piss territory where u could see them breaking when our guy stood to play the ball and by the time dummy half had it they were almost in our backline.
All in all a deserved win but we need to back it up now, all it took was a couple of crucial sliding doors moments from being a Manly hiding.

DWZ did exactly the same play and ran over 3 defenders for a try lol, the other time he ran across the field and passed it to Metcarve for a try. I look forward to a Taine/DWZ/RTS combo in a few weeks

Do you agree with my point that JFH's elite defence is what we need more than Addin's best in the NRL PCMs

It might sound counter intuitive but the only reason he's not starting fullback is Charnze. Right or wrong.

Taine has the ability to grab the big moments. Not every player can step up under pressure. I like him even if he's short.
