This team is so average. We have small forwards who can't bend the line, a 9 that doesn't run, 2nd rowers on the fringes with no creativity or athleticism, the worst halves in the comp and the slowest backline in the comp.

There's nothing to get excited about and we are going to get run through again. Seems like the coach will be making the same selection and tactical errors as last year and we will get similar, if not worse results.
 
I am very happy with our team list provided we don't switch Barnett to Lock again. And that we keep Ford to 30 minutes off the bench. I want to end the forum meme and statement that he has elite fitness and go 80 minutes. He played all 80 minutes like 20 games in a row when he first started and stayed fresh. BIG DEAL. Virtually every second rower in the comp plays eighty minutes as well He is no more fit than anyone else and got badly gassed at the more demanding prop position last week. If he plays he belongs on the bench so he can blow himself out over 25 minutes and that can be him for the game. Please stop the forum meme he has elite endurance.

It's a win-win situation for Webby, if we produce a magic victory hes going to be seen as a special coach, whereas if the same shit happens and we get pumped, he can ring in the changes yet still be the good guy where he tried to let the team take accountability and improve on their shit performance.

My fear is this what they are thinking too and is very much Warriors thinking after a bad loss. "This week let's try to lose by less and at least make it close". I have seen this movie play out plenty of seasons. I want us to try to win and forget about "at least making it close". Remember we lost last week by 22 points and not thirty at all - and while 22 is a comfortable loss. Go talk the cowboys or eels if you want to find about what a hiding looked last week.
In my mind we had better cattle than the Raiders but due to weird bench use we didn't use some of our cattle at all and Ricky smoked Webster from a coaching perspective including an all out line speed blitz for the first twenty minutes. Ricky has been around for a long time and I am observing he is improving and starting to become an elite coach instead of just the solid one we all have come to know,
I can see it now from the coaching staff hidden messaging that all means "lose by less this week and then in round 3 off making it close this week we will actually aim up to win. That subtle messaging will sound like
"Let's have a full 80 minute performance this week"
"Let's turn up with fewer missed tackles than last week"
None of those messages involve winning and are instead about losing by less than 6 points this wee.

Screw warriors mentality of the last 7 years. Let's go out there to win and whatever we lose by is just a loss. Let's not put store in losing well.

100% agree mate. It is going to be a looong year. Worst halves (and spine) in the comp, worst backline in the comp. By some margin too. If they were all free agents I'm not even sure who would be picked up by other clubs, other than as depth signings for reserve grade.

Please don't make up strawman arguments to allow you to sniper other people's posts gleefully. That is poor posting and given you usually post insightfully i can only wonder if you had a bad day at work today.

I did not say we would have won against the raiders had Barnett not played lock at all. I said I would be happy with the line up if Barnett does not play lock this time.
 
He’s giving the team a chance to make up
for a poor first game. There are a few experienced players like CNK, Capewell and Niukore that have earnt the right to get another crack. If they don’t deliver than changes should be looked at.

If we rang changes this week and still got flogged than what do you do the next week?

We will need a complete change up of attitude from our team defensively and our forwards need to become effective otherwise we will see more of the same.
Failing that we will again have posters on here bagging our halves.
RL games are won up front
