In my view the score did matter in this game as we had our A side out there against a sharks B side.
I think however Ed Kosi was a decisive liability and had we had Roger or this potential new outside back signing on the wing we would have won by 10 points.

Other points
1) TMM looked as rusty as an old door nail. Let's just hope he needed this hit out to wake up. Although I am a bit worried to be honest as even when he did touch the ball he looked useless.
2) No real injuries and we scored two good tries. And both were converted to those interested in goal kicking.
3) I still think we screwed the pooch a bit too much in the red zone instead of going South to North towards their try line.
4) Plenty to work with and the entire team got better the longer the game went.
5) Healy looked like he will challenge Egan for the starting spot before Round 10.

Sadly we are the poster boys of every crack down. Including the short lived:
-being punched in the face and laughing about it (Laban in NSW cup)
-dropping a ball on someone's head (CHT vs Cowboys)
-tackling a player and taking them too the horizontal (RTS Gold coast)

But we are often on the receiving end of counter laws, like the Dogs can do what they want with no real repercussions:
-Salmons high shot on TMM in the final minutes
-Critchon hitting RTS direct in the head with force

I do feel the Aussie refs go to the Warriors games listening to Kendrick Lemars 'they not like us' to psych themselves up for their officiating
Watch Charnzes try. Kennedy gets him high with a shoulder before he gets it down... crickets.

Good assessment Wrighty.
As a self called newbie what's your take on Jett.
I think if we can keep him we have a new star in the future

I am usually prepared to make a preliminary assessment even after one game, but this case he was only out there for 20 minutes and was nervous. So I am going to park assessing him at this point. Glad to know you rate him. Let's watch him in NSW cup if he plays. Definitely his family the Cleary's were there in full support on the sideline to cheer their boy on. I was quite moved by how emotional they were. Ivan in particular was looking really pensive and aware and focused with love on his face while he watched every move Jett made. I am sure Ivan and Jett will do their own debrief as well as Jett and the coaching staff.
Was Nathan in the stands too? Would have been good to have him there too. Certainly his Mum gave him a huge huge cheer when he ran on.
If I had to scratch together some comments would say:
1) He knew his role well and stepped up to it.
2) Needed to demand the pill more in the red zone as we ended up doing one out hit ups instead with lots of the forwards trying to being a hero instead of Cleary our half creating and organising a shape.

Clearly you watched him with tinted glasses

If you never knew he was Cleary’s you’d be thinking who’s that little white kid on the field ?

Same bias I had when I saw the huge #18 but then saw it was Ed Kosi. It has to be asked to Webby why can’t he play prop? Is it that complicated a position ?

Wait until his chin develops. That will add some extra horsepower in the future

No tinted glasses, maybe a few sav glasses hahaha 😆
I just thought he showed a good maturity for a young half.
Something we don't see from our homegrown halves.
Do you think that he has a future 🤔
Do you think his pedigree is not a good thing 🤔
Tell me what you think 🤔
Seriously

11 first grade Sharks not playing? Really?
Yep. Want expecting much especially with our halves and with Kosi on a wing and then Dallin dropped early.

We got a pretty good pack, with good backups in most positions, Clark and Healey were good, JFH i am not worried about, Laban is solid and got some impact off the bench with dylan and Demitric Vaimauga.

LM went better than I expected at halfback, my hopes weren't high to be fair. I didn't think TMM was bad, just need more involvement. Everyone calling for Brown will find he is the same player as TMM but 3x the price.

Backs were ok without setting the world on fire, Ali is strong in the tackle, CNK a workhorse, TT got spark. Was impressed when the sharks made a break and we caught them, there is some speed there.

Niukore played himself out of a position, doesn't add anything that we can't get out of harder workers like Ford and Laban, Capewell be third pick given his slow starts.

Sure wasn't perfect but a decent hit out, saw some young uns with some class and I am actually not that unhappy overall.
