If I really scratch around there is one more option

Trade out Naufahu Whyte price $456K trade in Humphreys $488K
That will leave me chronically short of an edge
To remedy that either
a) Vaimauga to Kai O'Donnel (if he gets named tomorrow) he only got 37 points but better than what Vaimauga gets
b) Sell Longi and get Wong an Edge for the Roosters who averages 47 but has bad job longevity with Radley coming back.
I think you may be over complicating this slightly. Ali is a sell and Humphries is a buy. Going against the pack with Humphries has put you in this situation. Going against the pack again is very likely just digging the hole deeper.
New players often look at the players they want to buy and how to get them. Seasoned players look at who they want to sell then figure out the best way to use the freed up cash.

Well said.

You have too much money in your wfb. Hammer is a sell.

You’re missing some of the biggest cash cows.

Hammer to humphreys
Upgrade vaimauga to whoever you can afford, or upgrade Ali & put vaimauga in your emg. He’s shit. But Ali’s money can be better spent.

Thought about Tamale but went for Kris, who I went and traded Edwards for, simply because I had only 21k in the Bank and I wanted to up that considerably.
Maybe thinking 'bout telling Nathan he ain't C this week. I'm leaning towards Curran or Mahoney since it's Bulldogs V Eels this week and on the basis of the last 2 games, it should be a Points Feast for the both of them...

Conventional wisdom would be don’t captain either of those players. If I don’t go with Cleary it will likely be May. But if I had Haas I would go for him.

Thanks so much Rizzah, Warriorsfan92, and Fizurg

Appreciate the advice, guys. I went back through some of Fizurg’s past posts to check my thinking, and in the end, I opted for a slightly different trade approach. Might not be optimal, but I’ll see how it plays out. Definitely learning as I go!

My learnings for next year are threefold
1) Don't let my fandom for the Warriors lead me to picking prospects like Vaimauga
2) Pick Forwards from weak sides and backs from top sides or medium sides.
3) Don't pay attention to pre-season form. A lot of the players who tanked in pre-season did good in the real games and vice versa.

Heres hoping another RW shocker coming your way 😜

Haha no, knowing my luck he'll score a hundred. Mark this post!
I had a squizz at your team. You have this I think. Unless like you say Reece Walsh smokes a 80 plus score. He is rocks and diamonds so who knows what he will put up.
I am so Jelly of you having S Wong on your edge. I have a man crush on him. I have been eyeing him up for a while. Will look into him next week.
Both of us have Kulikefu Finefeuiaki - who for some reason has not been named in the 17...who knows why?

Here's my unofficial comparison of NRL Fantasy vs Super Coach Strengths and Weaknesses - will cross post this into the Fantasy thread as well

1) NRL Fantasy has better software and more money spent on user testing. SuperCoach breaks a few usability rules from web design.
2) SuperCoach scores the players way better. The scores reflect how well the person actually played. NRL Fantasy can be a bit LOL at times with below average real life players being must have game changing players who if you don't have them you lose. This can be a bit of a mind fuck at times when goobers like Max Plath last year were decisive.
3) SuperCoach has 26 players vs 21 in Fantasy- this leads to two advantages. Got a choice between taking two players? Why not take both. Secondly with 26 players you can carry some dead wood. With Fantasy dead wood kills you. Each of the 21 positions is vital. I have Vaimauga in both SuperCoach and Fantasy, In SuperCoach he does not harm as a non counting player. In Fantasy I am often having to play him when others get injured.
4) SuperCoach's 18th man is terrific. While a similar problem is solved by "looping" in fantasy which is tough to learn and a barrier to new comers.
5) Fantasy has radically improved this year over SOO with only requiring 13 over minor bye rounds.

Verdict - On one hand Fantasy is better because it is more challenging due to the 21 players limit. There is a satisfaction of learning the craft and getting good at it.
Yet on the other hand Super Coach is better because the points each player score actually reflects how they went. You avoid many headaches and strong rugby league analysts are more likely to do well in this format even if they havn't played the game very long.

Any thoughts for who to trade him out for? Unless people think he's coming back anytime soon.

Was able to trade Hoskings to Nicholson and then Duffy to Starling. I could have also gone back to Metcow but I am in the process of divesting halves now. Cole likely next week as part of a trade to get Couchman.

Only $4k in the bank but has left my squad looking extremely balanced.

I am looping Cole and Sandon this week. I fully expect Cole to get another 20ish and will punt Sandon in. Feels good to have Sandon as 17th in the squad and have Hubner to come back.

I came 182nd in round 2 and think I have strengthened further so things are looking promising for a solid year.

Think you're putting in extra hours because you've started so well this year?
