I am getting rid of Hetherington. Why the hell f*** did I even get him.
It’s a choice between Nicholson and Tallis Duncan.
Duncan can cement a starting spot even when Hubner comes back.
Or is Nicholson safer given Hosking is out for 6 weeks.
Have to drop Duffy over Iongi.
At least Iongi is playing.
I’m looking seriously at Bailey Hayward.
He’ll play 80 and has a lot of game.

For context, haas is priced at over 65. Buying him, you’re hoping he either maintains 65, or has value and averages 70.

Haas is a buy at any point in the season. I understand the desire to get him, trust me I’ve looked at ways to do so. However, the start of the year is all about making as much money as possible. I don’t suspect haas has much, if any value.

I realise too, that he has the ability to offload & it seems like their game plan is different. Haas has offloaded 4 and 6x already. Last year, he did 1.6. Is 5x that stat sustainable? he’s also playing reduced minutes & has a ppm of 1.6 currently, is this sustainable? That’s your call.

I can’t get him, unless I destroy my team. These injuries do change things, but is he the best value right now? No, he isn’t. Best points? Yes he is. Your decision on which is your priority.

I've got Hosking and kpp who I'm thinking of trading out this week. One of them is getting traded to Humphreys, the other I'm a bit unsure of. I've only got Whyte and gilbert as edges now, which I basically built my team for coverage of most positions. I've got some stragglers in purdue, cole and duffy.

Any opinion on if I should make the other trade to to'a to catch him at his lowest price for the rest of the year or to fermor for more edge coverage, or any other options I may not have thought of?

Currently 61k in the bank. Cheers!

In terms of To'a vs Fermor here are some shapes on this:

1) One of your edges is Whyte. I have him too at edge and am planning on upgrading him. I think he will setting on low 40s. So maybe that means Fermor would be helpful as an upgrade?
2) Fermor is DPP and has one of his byes out of the way.
3) Starford is bound to make money this round with a minus 6 BE. So if you want to build value over points maybe he is your guy. Except how sure can you be he will keep up high scores? I believe it or not do not have him in my side yet but have been pondering hard. I got put off him by the fact in his last full year where he was healthy he only averaged 37. Can someone who only averaged 37 jump up to 45 plus average just because they have a better spine? Probably? But I haven't made that gamble yet and will do so when I am making a less critical trade and trading a like for like player where there is no downside.
4) Every dog has his day and Starford once scored 101 points against the Cowboys. Will you kick yourself if he has one of those days this year?

Ultimately in terms of game theory like Warriorsfan92 said you need to invest in either value or points. He recommended value at this stage of the game. Fermor is already priced at 51 while To'a is priced at 22 and will definitely go up to close to 40.

In terms of other players to buy? Can you swing Haas?

Cheers big fella, that was a good read.

I wish I could get Haas and Humphreys in; I've tried everything to do it. But Haas is unfortunately out of reach for me right now, barring a major injury.

I guess I've got one eye on pumping out a decent score and edge coverage being fermor, who from my research should be a 50+ scorer, which will be handy for one centre spot. But after reading old mates post about value, it's got me thinking about cash generation, even though I'll be flush for centres to'a is probably going to make double what Fermor is capable of and as you said could average 40+ also.

You've made me mind up wrighty, Humphreys and to'a it is!!

Certainly a tough call. I might have been tempted by Fermor's ability to play centre.
But Starford will definitely go up in value.

I wonder if anyone else has a take?
