🤖 AI Summary

📝 Summary:

The thread analyses the Warriors' narrow 18-20 loss to the Dolphins, emphasizing frustration over defensive lapses in the final minutes despite a depleted squad. Key themes include divided opinions on player efforts—Roger Tuivasa-Sheck #73 received widespread praise for dominant carries while critical penalties by Dallin Watene-Zelezniak and questionable inaction from Leka Halasima #395 drew ire for contributing to the collapse. A balanced perspective #164 highlights the team's resilience given injuries to stars like Barnett and Metcalf, but ultimately criticizes late-game decision-making under pressure. User analysis #321 identifies systemic defensive failures during the Dolphins' match-winning play. Laban's season-ending injury from Kaufusi's tackle sparked outrage over the NRL's lenient suspension #385. Coach Andrew Webster faced scrutiny for conservative tactics—notably opting not to take penalty shots to extend the lead—though some defended the strategy given personnel limitations #397.

I will only say this once so I don't bang on about it. The major issue with our red zone attack is Erin Clark wasting one tackle every set to try to score a try all by himself by barging over. He does it on the 5th tackle then suddenly it is our 6th tackle and we have to kick. He has white line fever.

Carm down. Conservative is what was required and coached. We owned them for 35 minutes. Kenty talks about refs controlling the game not blowing penalty all the time. We play rugby like and respect the ref. Ozzie manipulate the ref, so these teams i think are even on that respect. Ref would have stopped for Melbourne and most other high profile teams.

In what way did we own them, scoring 1 try. Not to mention 60 mins with Herbie out.

Our run home suggests 1, maybe 2 wins to end the season, looking through an objective lens.

Who are we going to beat ?? to stay in the 8 ...eels looked very good last game maybe we could beat them at home ..Manly DCE last game nope .. DOGs near full strength we are going get bitched, the TITs ??? away they have are number..Dragoons at home maybe we can beat them . .. but as we know no team is an easy and we are sliding down
We will jag a win against the Drags and/or Eels. The other games are losses.

Such a shame losing at the end, otherwise that was a gritty performance with many stepping up, that’s probably your backline going forward and Healey as 14.
what happens if we lose a back mid game like we'd have happen so many times this year? Probably we bring CHT back in and TMM goes back to the utility cover. As much as it sucks for young Healey who I thought again showed why the Sharks didn't want to let him go. He showed some rust but that was his 3rd game. I'd say he did really well.

Ford ran for 150m in this game and had a clean line break that led to our 2nd try.
Ford had a great game
DWZ got almost 200m, 2 tries and a crucial intercept that saved a try. I'd say both did well.
the intercept only happened because he got smoked on the outside. He also committed an error and 2 mistakes, and gave up a penalty. Also had the best shot at shutting down the final play and froze.

For some perspective, if we make top 4 this year, it will be for the 4th time in our clubs history, and it will mean webby has the most, half, of our top 4 finishes.

I think we’d have need a blessing from the gods for our squad to stay healthy to be real contenders this year, unfortunately not to be. Right ingredients are there, hopefully we see webby improve, and it’ll come. Just not this year, realistically.

Pretend there’s no miracles in rugby league and we’d have lost against the knights and won tonight.

The last ten minutes showed the difference between the two sides. The Dolphins, knowing a try against them would lose them the match, pushed up in defence. The Warriors, knowing a try against them would lose them the match, sat back in defence and let the Phins move the ball around.

Most of our games are close affairs.

We won a lot of close ones at the start of the year. It is fair that we will also lose a few close ones as well.

The key thing is the losses are coming later in the season. It should be when you are building for the finals.

Like the wins at the start of the year can create confidence. Losing can slowly erode it which is something they will need to watch out for.
