So LM can't be the best player he can by learning to be a 7, the position he prefers, because TMM sucks shit at being a 6 so LM has to do what is best for the team and be 6 himself? How about instead Boyd or CHT get a chance at 6 in the next trial with LM? That is my counter view.
I just think that Metcalf with his pace would be better one off the ruck.
Trial 2 I would be inclined to try Boyd or Martin 7.
I also think that tmm is struggling with the 6 and goes better at 7.
We badly lack pace and need to make the most of what we have.
But hey. You guys probably know better.
😉

P.s. Webster said before trial no. 1 that 7 & 6 were interchangeable iirc

CHT had more than enough chances at 6 and he ain’t it

Kid ain’t got the clutch gene
Inherited the choke one instead

At 7 TMM>DB>LM
At 6 DB>LM>TMM

Therefore TMM 7 and LM 6 > LM 7 and TMM 6

If LM at 7 is the plan then I just want them to go all in on it for at least the first 10 rounds. Give him the time to shine. Look at SJ last year - with all of his experience he struggled to play with a few games here and there. The only way to know if he has the goods is to let him run the show for a while. He is the future we have invested in. He has invested a life in NZ in it too.

I get it though, he is the best 6 at the club. We need to find a good 6. I see 2025 as a development year anyway.

I understand what you are saying but I personally do not think that 2025 will be our year but would love to be proven wrong. With that in mind it makes sense for LM to play as 7. He likely has the highest ceiling of our halves and gives him a whole year to improve. It will give us a better shot at 2026 if we have a NRL capable 7. In regards to TMM he needs to either work out quickly how to play 6 or we just do not renew him for 2026. As for speed that is on the Andrews. For some reason it doesn't seem to be a priority for them.

Imo the biggest problem we have is the promotion of our younger guys as been lacking and until we give them some game time we are not improving.
The older ones are getting older and slower
We are desperate for an injection of youth.
Hopefully we see this happen soon

To an extent but he is limited by who is available to recruit and who wants to come here. I imagine he'd quite like an elite half and a bit more speed in the outside backs just like most on here would.
Watching Ethan Sanders, he’s ready to play nrl so Jamal Fogerty could look to get out of Canberra, that’s about the best 7 I could see that could become available but if Metcalf makes a go of 7, Dylan Brown just seems like the best option to come play 6. Comes with a strong running game, to compliment mobile forwards
