it wasn't. Popcorn was not worth making.Indeed.
On the upside Ricky's presser should be a beaut!

Nuts....Why?Penalty/6 again count
17-4
Nuts.
Guys in front of the marker on defensive PTB regularly. Not just Big Red. A number of them could have been marchedGood- the Raiders have been getting away with murder in the ruck the first two games- good to see it being addressed.
Didn't that new edict from the NRL about zero criticizing of refs come in this season?......Ricky's will be dieing inside having to bite his tongueit wasn't. Popcorn was not worth making.
Hoping we're not thinking beyond this Sunday, but agree that Melbourne game is huge ... if, and it's big if, we start clicking on the edges in attack and can maintain and improve on our defensive work then we'll be a chance in that game ... Storms aren't so scary, there are weakness even in that teamAgain, good points.
Regardless, losses are not positive. No matter the PD.
We need to ice these games and claw back that reputation of being that club that players hate to play against.
That Melbourne game is very important.
I fully get your take as far as expectations go, fully realistic. I just don't like operating at a lower bar than our competitors, as that leads the way for subpar results (only my two cents)
Gamesmanship and shithousery conveniently become "Hey, it's legal! Okay, maybe not a good look, but it's up to the IRL/FIFA/Whichever Governing Body to fix that loophole if they think it's a bad look for th game!" when your team does it - Park The Bus Football, gang-tackling in league etc etc.I have to laugh at the reaction to this Curran impersonating the ref decision.
A lot of the Aussie media calling it gamesmanship. There are other incidents like players getting hit in the head waiting for a penalty and that isn't right. Or look at cricket years ago the Black Caps batted out a slow over rate to stop Australia advancing which got them all wound up.
Can they give the rest of the world a list of what is gamesmanship and what they will complain about?
Players have been calling the opposition guy in possession to pass him the ball forever. Not a judicial thing but are they going to make that illegal now?Gamesmanship and shithousery conveniently become "Hey, it's legal! What Curran did has been going on since sports began, it's just that he's a Pioneer in the ref pinging him for Taking The Piss And Acting Like You're Me. I look forward to seeing NRL players telling their opponents they're offside/whatever infringement being called a penalty since a precedent has been set...NOT.
Or did the ref simply look at Josh and still see the Warriors jersey he used to wear?
I remember reading about a situation in a league match - this was pre-Warriors IIRC - where a player from Team A has quite merrily thrown the ball to a player from Team B because Team B Player called out Team A Player's nickname.Players have been calling the opposition guy in possession to pass him the ball forever. Not a judicial thing but are they going to make that illegal now?
