This right here is why you don't make premiership evaluations in the first month of the comp. Canberra looked hot stuff in the first.2 weeks but are now clearly demonstrating that they are an edge 8 team at best. They are a high effort team and if they deviate from that, they can drop off very quickly. We owe them a hiding back at Mt Smart after the bye. Likewise, I don't think we can draw too much from Manly's performance tonight given the extreme circumstances underpinning this game. We demonstrated last week that they are still lacking the defensive steel to being a true premiership contender.

Add to that twelve men period.

The Raiders fade is a function of the team being exhausted and completely shot, look at the insane defensive load they had to carry before falling apart. They kept up their kick chase for most of that and were offensive in their defence.

I believe the fade came about because physically they hit the wall.

Unfortunately they might not even recover fully before their next match after a game like that. Give them a week off Sticky.
 
It's pretty impressive that the Raiders have held them to 10-6 in the second half after those crazy lopsided possession stats in the first half.

I think Ricky will be fairly calm in the press conference

You are denying the Raiders any agency here. Sure the sin bin period precipitated everything but they essentially gave up towards the end of the first half. They kicked the ball out immediately after the first try and the next two tries came straight off the kickoff. That's on the team. Any serious team looking to challenge at the pointy end of the season would find a way to overcome this adversity and get back in the game. I guarantee you if Penrith or Melbourne were playing tonight at 4pines, they would have found a way to win. Raiders by collapsing like this just proved that whilst they are a fair team, they are not quite at the level of the very top sides.
