Paul Kent seen in street fight four months after cleared of DV charges

A video posted to social media on Sunday morning appears to show rugby league journalist Paul Kent in a street fight outside a restaurant in Sydney’s inner west.
Kent was cleared of domestic violence charges against his ex-partner in December last year.
In the video posted to X, the senior writer for The Daily Telegraph and host of Fox Sports show NRL 360 can be seen on the street outside Totti’s Rozelle, engaging in an argument with another man before the fight turns physical.
Kent appears to take his watch off before approaching a man. The two men then begin trading punches.
The sparring sends Kent and the man onto the street, with Kent at one point going head-first into the gutter during the scuffle.
It’s not clear what the dispute was over, but Kent can allegedly be heard calling a man a “dog” and a “doghead” during the initial argument.
NSW Police confirmed they did not respond to the incident, and were unaware of the video before this masthead contacted the media unit with questions.
Kent returned to his NRL 360 hosting gig in March after a nine-month absence while he awaited trial on the domestic violence charges.
Kent was accused of attacking his then 33-year-old ex-partner at his home in Lilyfield on May 12 last year, but was found not guilty of common assault, intentionally choking a person without consent and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
After a two-day hearing in December, magistrate Daniel Reiss said he could not rely on the complainant’s version of events over Kent’s.
The woman claimed Kent threw her to the ground after she took his phone off his home office desk, and put his hands around her throat, leaving her with injuries to her neck, arms and hand.
Delivering his judgment, Reiss said the medical evidence provided concluded “no such injuries have been found on the neck” and photographs of her arms were inconclusive.
In regards to the physical “wrestle”, Reiss said it was a case of “one word against another” and he was not satisfied beyond reasonable doubt that the alleged assaults occurred.
Outside court in December, Kent told reporters the case had been costly and “a big setback”, and had “caused significant reputational damage”.
“I’ve been vindicated today. The judge accepted what happened,” he said.
Kent and Fox Sports were contacted for comment.

Really used to appreciate PK's views on 360 But over the last few episodes he sounds a burbling mess. Reckon the guy needs help more than critisism right now.
But if he's not available for 360 for a while - we might get Tallis back & can't stand that gutless wonder -Ah the dilemma

Old guys like Paul Kent should know better. Made a fool of himself and probably damaged his career beyond repair. He needs help if only to stay of the drink.
We all make mistakes but it’s the Hypocrisy that kills him.
He launches into players that do similar.
I hope he can comeback from this but we a new level of understanding for the players.

He is a big mouthed know it all who doesn’t know it all!

He thinks if he speaks loudly it makes him knowledgeable

This episode exposes him for what he is and throws a lot of doubt re his innocence in respect of his ex.

I hope he doesn’t comeback from it
Yeah makes it entertaining to me anyway on 360.
I don’t like how he really judges the players to an extreme but I like some of his takes.
He got into a late night fight, he’s probably been baited for years just like the players and done something he shouldn’t have done.
He will have to pay the consequences.

Agree with WA Warrior.
If you're in the public view and get baited often enough and badly enough, I guess it's always possible at some point your brain is either not going to flash up the "Ignore Dickhead, Move On!" sign or your flash of anger/annoyance will ignore the warning.

Everyone on NRL360 suffers from "Speaking Loudly And Over Everyone Else Means I Know What I'm Talking About" Disease.

If they hadn't decided to go the coaching route (although Laurie Daley appears to have gone the AusTAB route now, OT but gotta laugh how his segment on MJS or 360, whichever it is, is always blocked, it's not gambling that's evil, it's gambling with AUSTab that's evil!), I always thought Kevvie Walters and Laurie Daley might be good regulars on the show.

Between the Injury Chair and the Naughty Chair, will there be any players left to play Origin in June??
