8-2 is strange but true.

We are no fluke.

We are no shoe in for a premiership.

But signs of improvement are there. A better balance of youth and experience is showing. A resilience under pressure is showing.

A growth in Metcalf is showing. Very near exponentially.

We have deficiencies galore but those things being our work ons are the things that will keep us grounded.

A fast and in form Dolphins next.
I have them at 7 wins -2 losses but I'll accept my error

What is pickle drink anyway?

Depends what you google. But we don't really know.

Leading theories go that the combination of salt and acetic acid is thought to act on nerves in the back of the throat that tell the brain to release muscle spasms (that would be related to a choking mechanism I guess).

Other theories believe it is the mouth itself that triggers the relax.

Either way you can see why Metcalf chose not to swallow....

Capewell really proving his doubters wrong this year. Sure 2024 was a rough year for him, but it was for everyone in the team. These last few weeks are demonstrating why Webby pushed so hard to get him to us. Not just his work on the ball but his experience off it. LM mentioned in his fox interview that Capewell was the one who went up to him and suggested going for the field goal. His experience playing in big stages like grand finals and SOO is starting to become known in these clutch situations. If ever both Barney and JFH were to be out for us, which is entirely possible during origin, he's my next pick for captain.
Unfortunately he may well be picked for the maroons

He's not. That was my point and rationale for why I don't think he'll be called into SOO. He was only recalled during game 2 last year because of injury.
Bench Game 2 and started Game 3. Seems like an incumbent to me?

David Fifita is obviously not going to get picked as the apparent incumbent 2023, Cotter might but isn't a 2nd rower IMO, Nanai has been up and down but probably deserves a spot. One spot will likely be someone new, or Capewell? Su'a doesn't deserve to keep a spot.

Hes gonna walk straight into the squad at least a bench spot, just on past experience and current form alone.
Some of his plays and how he wound the clock down for us is all premium experience!

I'd be surprised. SOO sides aren't picked on form especially when incumbents are concerned. Unless there is an injury, I don't see how Capewell or Egan get picked. Barney is the only one we will be missing in all likelihood.
Who are the bonafide queensland backrow selections?

Surely Capewell is in the mix again?

Egan won't be selected but I think he should, on the back of a NSW pack, he would bring more to the table than Robson.

I quite like the option of the early drop goal

In the dying minutes, the kicker gets swarmed. By kicking early, metcalfe gave himself the highest chance of a successful kick, as only gutho was awake

A bit of a tradeoff with 10 minutes to go, but it’s definitely a smart option to take
Considering we never looked like scoring in that second half, it was the best option for sure.

I think Nenai and Jayden Su'a played second row during the first origin series last year. There's also Beau Fermor at the Titans who is doing well in a shit team and Brendan Piakura at the Broncos who I think was in the origin frame last year as well.

Forgot about Fermor, he and Nanai would be the form picks. Piakura shouldn't be anywhere near the team
