The extra incentive is raiders and dogs play each other this week so we can gain some ground on someone above us !

I dunno, I see Raiders getting up for this one.

Doggies have only played one team in th 8 so far and got towelled up (Broncos).

They're playing Raiders away, and will have a few players out from suspensions etc.
I see the Raiders winning that one, which means we'll still stay 3rd even with a win

Yeah I also see raiders winning but that means we make ground on dogs with all 3 teams now losing 2 games for the season

Interesting to see what is done with Healey since Laban is back this week from concussion. I would argue that the Berry injury would not have been as disruptive if Laban was on the bench. He would have come on and taken Capewah's second row spot after he shifted into the centres. This would have allowed us to leave Marata in the middle. The lack of lateral movement by Marata was a huge factor in the spacing issues that the cows exploited during the last quarter of the game.

It’s about time we start putting some points on the board to start getting our +/- on the right track. I find it hilarious reading comments stating we don’t deserve to be in the top 4 due to our even points differential.
this argument about our p/d is getting a bit tiring and kind of misses the bigger picture re what Webby is trying to build during the early rounds. People forget that after round 10, our pts differential in 2023 was actually worse: -7.

Like 2023, clearly Webby's strategy during the early rounds is to simplify our gameplan around rebuilding our defensive DNA. This is definitely the right approach when you consider i) our young halves pairing (which is the most inexperienced in the nrl) are still developing and learning to gel together and ii) we are still missing our triple banger attacking threats (DWZ, RTS). That's going to lead to a lot of 1-12 wins along the way.

Points will come as the triple bangers near returns and webby begins to turn his attention towards more sophisticated attacking shape. We've already seen that in the last 2 weeks: we've scored 28 pts on average during that period vs 20 before. We have 18 weeks to fix our p/d. We all need to just chill in the mean time and enjoy the ride.
