I’d have Taine or Chanel kicking goals than Pompey, Chanel looked the most silky, whoever has the ice cold heart gets the job for me, if you watch Pompey’s goals they are all calculated hail marys between the posts rather than ace kickers who aim at at the post or middle between the posts…and Pomps misses the easy ones too often

I’d like to see their percentages from either side. All goal kickers have a favorite side.
I remember seeing a stat on thurston- he never missed from the left but was ordinary from the right so why not have some else take those ones?
Have a specialist kicker from either side.
Cht being a lefty I’d imagine he’s better from the right.
What side was the last kick?

He kicked 3/6 and missing another sitter right in front last night. Against the Storm he kicked 3 from the side to 14:0 then when pressure is on he missed a sitter so we were still 20:18 behind. He kicked 0/3 in the GF qualifier last year while Reynolds kicked them all so instead of 18:24 going into HT we were 12:24 and when Broncos scored again to make it 18 points, it was game over

All his goals were wobbly hail marys and he can’t kick them 5m either side of the posts, let’s pretend it’s not a problem and mock the solutions proposed, very 2024 guys

And yes I will have a look if he has rosary beads with him for you next time

Last night was right side and against Storm was left side, he’s a natural kicker and smooth af off the tee, they need to train his ass off under pressure for field goals as SJ was amazing but can’t play now

I think Pompey at 2nd row is a natural progression for the bro. He's too slow to play in the centres and a decent frame for 2nd row, he's probably more of an offensive threat than Capewell and can defend. Would rather some speed in the backline

I agree with all that but I’d rather give him a preseason there first but then we already have more promising forwards coming though.
Hate to say it because Ive a soft spot for him.
He signed my boys shirt last year and we bumped into him and lussick at pacific fair this year too and he’s a lovely guy but…. I think the best thing for everyone might be to take an opportunity at another club.

Might be good for depth as 4th centre and 2 injuries away from starting, if Berry/MGT/Ali are pair going forward. If there is a second NZ team in a couple of years he will definitely be a senior player there, apparently he doesn’t want to leave NZ thus didn’t go to Newcastle

Unfortunately Monty has had his day I think. Always been a fan of his attitude and commitment but the game is so much faster and we need some speed.

He would kill it in SL for a couple of years I think. He has sweat blood for the Warriors week in week out but it's time to find an upgrade I think. Whether that is putting RTS back on the wing or bringing someone up I don't know.

But I see 2 major weak links, lack of a proper prop to support AFB and speed across the 1 to 7.

So for me, Monty and Jazz to go and bring in some young guns to cover both of their respective roles. Whatever that combination might be.

On the upside, they found the ideal way to use him currently with that beautiful grubber for that try to him. Goes to show there is work being done on where he can benefit, he knew it was coming and wasn’t going to be stopped. Wouldn’t mind seeing more crash balls with him at centre too to utilise that weight/muscle he’s carrying

Anyone can run 10 metres and pick up a grabber kick. He’s played 2 games at fullback this year and killed it, Knights and dolphins pre season. Either fullback or wing. He doesn’t suit centre
