NRL generally has been BS from inception.. def since the Wahs inception anyway. IE STORM.. what a joke.. If I was playing I would make a bee-line for them.. the chances of success must be 50% better than other teams, def wahs (in order to compete against AFL). I see the big wigs sitting in their ivory tours deciding who to favour, when.. IE Bulldogs.. HUGE clube, massive fan base.. they need to have more wins so fans come back.. The Wahs are cursed in a way by the massive fan base, we must sell jerseys like hot cakes (second to broncos maybe) which all equals revenue for the NRL HO.. as long as we are competitive that will continue.. They don't need us to win - full stop (in fact they would likely hate it).. we would have to be 20% better on average to take it. I do see that possibly happening now pathways and juniors are coming through.. some of the young guys are amazing.. but we still need the best halves in the comp to get there. Future looks OK.. but fu*k me its frustrating being a wahs fan dealing with this BS.

I’d really like to see Adam Gee singled out for this as the senior figure in the bunker. I as a fan and supporter just can’t wear the explanation that in looking for the high contact, the bunker forgot to look for lateness. This is just incompetence at the highest level at the least. Ex players like Andrew Johns are so vocal about protecting halves from late shots that this just seems so peculiar that an official forgets that this is one of the areas that they are looking for when rolling back footage to make decisions on

This is particularly so as there was a 5 minute stoppage in play as both players were assessed for injury resulting from the incident. May be the fact that the bulldog came out worse (loss of teeth) influenced their decision to look just at the high contact and not the lateness of the tackle. Whatever the cause, Aynsley admitted an error had been made and a penalty should have given for both lateness of tackle and high contact. This view was particularly supported by Corey Parker and panelists on the NRL 360 show last night. Paul Crawley was particularly appalled that the decision (not to penalise) could be the difference between the Warriors making the finals or missing out, given the closeness of the competition.

Even Gallen is smart enough to know the answer is yes as it would have been a penalty in a kickable range. If the kick was successful it decides the game in terms of finding a winner. If it didn't go over we carry on to the draw and golden point.

The tip sheet on Martin is he throws dummies. That doesn't excuse hitting him in the head.

When there is incidents around the Bulldogs his dual roles does become questionable. He seemed more obsessed with pointing out Salmon had broken his jaw.

He may have been speaking the truth about taking Salmon and his parents out for dinner. It also came across like he wasn't taking the whole thing seriously.

Sacking Annesley is not the answer, he will only be replaced by another suit and it will be rinse and repeat. The main thing that needs to be addressed is Accountability.

I'm keen to explore two options:

1. Last 10 minute report (similar to NBA 2 minute report).
2. An additional Captains Challenge in Golden point.

Last 10 min report:
An official review released by the NRL that evaluates the officiating in the final 10 minutes of games and any golden point periods.

The idea is one for accountability but also, we are rightly or wrongly fixated on one single decision. An officiating report may support we got robbed or show that on balance in the final 10 mins we or they or whatever should also have received penalties here, here and here...

It's not perfect but short of wheeling the officials out into a post match press conference (which is never ever going to happen) it is at least one way to find some accountability.


Golden Point Captains Challenge:
Each team shall receive 1 captains challenge in golden point

• You either keep the one you have
• If you have already used it, you get given 1 for golden point.

The refs are shit scared of making a decision, put the power into the players hands.

• We believe without Mahoneys tip, the kick seemed to be going over
• We believe Mahoney was not square at marker.
• We should have the right to challenge it!

Anyway, that's my two pieces I would like explored.

I like your golden point challenge. It would stop markers being offside against field goals.

I called out NRL360 on Monday for brushing over the controversies and praising the Bulldogs.

They discussed in last night and I thought it was pretty fair.

But surely we agree 90% of head clashes result in no further action both on and off-field?

In Union, 100% of head clashes are scrutinised on field with almost all resulting in immediate action.

It depends whether the ref/bunker decides it is accidental or deliberate (ie leading with the head)

3 days have passed since the loss. And I have still not come up with a plausible reason why that penalty was not called.
Incompetence is not an answer as even a brand new ref with three weeks of experience would have called that.
In the past I have defended the refs and have provided other reasons I believed in why we didn't get 50 50 calls in our favour ie no team in the bottom 4 gets 50 50 calls in their favour and that the Tigers also get shafted when I watch them. But this call was not a 50 50 call. It was like a 100 to zero call. I have never seen the Warriors not a get a call like that before.
Still after being a sulk much of Monday night it came across me that we made the preliminary final last year and lost to the better team and it wasn't due to reffing. If the refs had it in for the Warriors we would not have made the top 8 last year let alone finishing 4th on the ladder.
So I don't think the missed penalty was an anti warriors decision. May be it was a pro - dogs decision. Maybe the refs want the dogs to be the cinderella team this year.
It was a biased call no doubt. But my belief it was a combination of a home town crowd pressuring the ref and not wanting to be booed and a pre game script by whoever is the illumaniti within the NRL who want Dogs to make the top four.
We were just collateral damage.

The good news is that the refs will be under a directive to avoid any controversial or impartial call against us for a couple of weeks until this dies down.

The bad - two weeks equals the bye followed by the Raiders who the NRL is happy to screw over just as readily. Why can't we have the Storm this week?

Can somebody explain to how this is a shoulder charge? Worse how it was cleared on field but deemed worthy of being pulled back several plays later and Dogs being given the ball after they made a mistake? This is the second big mistake Gee in the bunker made against us in under 10 mins. He was clearly trying to fuck us.

Look closely and you see Montoyas left hand/arm completely wrapped Tracey. Go back watch the replay and he he has. Clear wrapping motion.

I’m every other game this year when a player has been put on report for previous plays in the set they’ve never given the ball back after it was turned over. We’re the only ones where they put the player in report and penalty is given against us.

Happened 3 times this year and the worst one was the TmM against storm where he didn’t even get charged but we lost the ball in crucial territory and time.

Theoretically if we are using “last year we made top4 therefore there was no bias” angle, we got incredibly outrageous calls last year including Tohu copping a swinging arm and cleared by the bunker, in front of Magic round crowd, Paris called NRL cheats, then refs became fair and we played our game and got top 4

This year we’re getting dud calls like going back 2-3 tackles for penalties, and nobody came out to sensationalize it now TMM copped one and our season is probably done. The fan outrage has helped to force the NRL official/media complex to admit their errors and maybe we’ll get the same rub of the green again like last year, question is are the boys tough enough to win the next 6-7 games?

Honestly it’s freaking sad a league does this every year, it’s so predictable and we customers had to pretend it’s all normal and come up with excuses for these incompetent fukcs, every year, we paid for entertainment, not freaking stress and social justice activism for our boys FFS, this is like domestic abuse and Stockholm Syndrome, they bitch slapped my face, they must have their reasons, it must be my fault

I get you on that but if it was Freddy Lussick you know he doesn't want another big ban. Everyone in that pack was gassed and rightly so and the disruption because of our injuries to the back three moved our fastest freshest sub of Leka to centre. Its not going to help but yeah. Keep posting bro
