We will run with 11. i will begin discussing and posting the rules with you in the next few days,

I will work on the rules soon. Just a warning for those new to Wrighty games the list of rules will be very long as that is the part of the process I enjoy. Making the rules. I suggest just skim readifng them and asking me for a summary or just asking questions as they come up. That said this game is going to be extremely strategic and luck will be a low component of who wins. Those who have played before will be an advantage. But so be it. The more you have a strategy the more chance you have of winning.
Rules coming soon.

Can you clarify this Wrighty:

Round master asks a qualifying question and there is one round of silent auction and one round of open auction.
Yes that is poorly written.
Each person will be round master twice. One for a silent auction and one for an open auction. Up to you as round master which one you do first and which one you do second.
For each round you will need a qualifying question.

So if I am round master and I chose silent auction, I can't see the bids can I. Just you?

If I run an open auction do players list three players and their bids next to them? Everyone can see each others players and bids? Can they bid more through the day to beat other bids? Can they change the players they nominated initially?

"So if I am round master and I chose silent auction, I can't see the bids can I. Just you?" Correct

With your questions on the open auction

Yes to your question - put your bids next to your three players. Then throughout the day you can react to other people's counter bids and increase your bids.
"Can they change their players they nominated initially?"
Good question at one point I was going to let you have open slather and bid how you wished and not have a limit of three. But I want some mechanism to stop people from bidding everyone else up knowing they are only on the hook for one player. I need to think this through - we could change the rule so you end up getting all the players you bid the most for and that would more naturally stop people spray bidding on everything.

In fact I think I like that. In Open Auction fill your boots and bid on as many players as you like but knowing you could win all of them. So bid realistically.

So if you win the open auction for a player that no one goes for you get them for free plus you get a bonus $400k per player.

What's stopping me in the first round bidding $100k on 120 players and bank a heap of coin for later rounds? Or are you only allowed a squad of 22 players max?

Good spotting = you are good at this. Yes let's make a rule of 22 max players per squad,

So, players should put in 3 choices and the top ranked one they win is the player they get. If they miss out its just bad luck and puts pressure on to make better choices and bids in later rounds?

If they win each round they have a squad of 22 to choose from and if they miss out on 5 rounds they have a squad of 17 to choose from

I will need to edit the rules in the opening post
For the Silent auction you get 3 choices and the top ranked player is the player you get. If you miss out that is just bad luck etc and puts pressure on to make better choices later.

For the Open Auction you can bid on as many people as you like and acquire as many players as you win the bids for provided you don't go above a max of 22 acquired players.

Makes sense.

I guess for consistency - we could make the silent auction like the open auction. So you can win as many players as you like by silent auction but then there will be more ocassions where other people don't win anything. I will think about that. As I want the game to be easy to understand.
By the way Inruin every game we toss around and fine tune the rules like this. I rely on feedback.
