Pick Your Team Warriors v Eels - [Round 22, 2024]

Egans problems are of his own making.
Putting his head in front of the hip instead of behind .
We were taught that in under age footy.
Admire his ability & courage but lacks defensive technique.
Whatever side his head goes he's got the rest of his body on the wrong side which causes the injury. It is a basic fundamental of not wrecking yourself in tackling and our best hooker doesn't have it and it's a tragedy seeing it be repeatedly happen. Workplace health and safety at the very least. Sheesh

If SJ’s fit you play him. You don’t go from being the deserved Dally M favourite to not being good enough to play halfback at the Warriors in less than 12 months.
Its not that. Its that he went up one year of age. Down one year in speed. Another year of compounded injury history and one year more in a faster game of younger blokes. That can happen in a year. Also his desire to keep going can dissolve in a year.

This is the week to give it a go, if he can't threaten a disinterested eels defence a little bit - then we're probably stuffed regardless. holding him back a few more weeks with a smart player like DCE to run traffic at him all game - no one wants to see that.

The one thing the current halves have they are very solid on defence, far more than a one legged SJ has been this season.

Attack is ugly - though weirdly they still come up with some real nice plays, tmm last second pass to ali for instance, in between all the broken down sets in the red zone.

Ironically CHT probably has to start with him as goalkicker

We have no kicking game at all. I agree he’s a year slower but he could be a decade slower & still a better option than what we currently have.

During the Friday night game against the Storm the commentators were mentioning how the Eels only had 20 fit players available to name.

But an Eels side under and injury without Moses if we can't get this one at home we don't deserve to be in the 8.

If this stat from the commentators is correct they must have players coming back. The NRL casualty list has us with more injuries than them and also looks pretty up to date as it lists Ford from Friday night.

I'd assume they come off when the player is named to come back.

I’m firmly in the camp that if SJ is fit he starts. Martin also looks like he has been carrying an injury in the last couple weeks which might make any decisions easier.

We might go worse, but the ceiling is far higher with Johnson starting than any other combo we have.
the way TMM played of late if SJ is fit then we should see TMM given a rest ..PARRA a great game for SJ to hopefully hit the ground with some dominant forwards to play behind hopefully Webby gives the bench some decent time ...if we do make SEPT footy I don't think giving players limited mins ....and time to give up the JAZZ bench impact ... BUNTY ALE LABAN please for the love for finals footy

Geez people carry on like Tuapiki is a rising superstar we need to squeeze into the line up- he’s a 24 year old fringe first grader- no farkin way they’re dropping rts for him after last night.
Rts may be limited in his ball playing but what he’s good at, he’s really, really farking good at.
When cnk is back to full fitness a decision will need to be made but till then rts has to wear the number 1- it’s a no brainer.
