Losing JFH on top of Barnett and Metcalf is a blow. I know he's not gone for the season like them but it is while we are trying to overcome those losses and also at the time of the season you want to be building towards your best.

Vaimauga has been playing well so he deserves an opportunity to step up and start.

The reports of young Cleary being promoted to the top 30 seem a bit clearer now with the CHT injury. Already have down a half in the squad with Metcalf out.

A shame as CHT has had a good run injury free this year. It was good having stability in the halves for as long as it lasted.

Really surprised at the negativity by some. Less surprised at comments from others. I’m not saying we’ll win but I’m pretty pleased with the team considering our circumstances.
Can’t wait to see Vaimauga starting at prop.
Ditto to Healey at hooker.
Bench is weird but who knows what the final makeup is.
People asking for Ale mustn’t remember his previous first grade appearances. He’s completely ineffective. I think Bunty is average but he’s leagues ahead of Ake.
This is one of those games we’re expected to be hammered but we’ll sneak a gritty win. Trust.
Weird that a coach who has gotten us into the top 4 for 2 out of his 3 seasons is getting grief too.
Afoa leagues ahead of Ale? lol. He’s hade no game time under webby last game I remember was Dolphins last year and he killed it. Easily our best middle forward in cup aswell. He has footwork and an offload, Webbys to conservative for any of that.
That’s how we were beaten on the weekend, Titans had offloads galore and players in motion

He got to play 4 out of the last 5 games in 2024 and had an average of 24 mins for 74m which is quite productive. He came on at 4-22 against the Sharks and contributed to our comeback win. The trend with him in those 4 matches is he'd be a spectator until after halftime time & we were never leading when he came onto the field. His metres per minute would be superior to many

Again excellent analysis.
Facts beat eye meters.

I know the bench has raised eyebrows. We also don't know if a few other guys are carrying injuries and they are covering in case they can't get through.

Lussick hasn't dropped his lip with Healey coming over here and has toiled away in the Cup side even playing different roles. Getting some experience in different position may have ben something discussed between him and the coaching staff.

Lussick on the bench also means we aren't pushing Healey to go 80 minutes.

On a couple of different occasions in recent times we have fielded a no-hoper side full of changes we have had great-character building wins. Lots of guys are getting their shot here and they have been playing with confidence in Cup.

Hopefully the Dolphins recent try scoring blitzes have them expecting a bloodbath and we catch them out, which happens regularly enough in the NRL when you turn up thinking you are the shit. I know this is wishful thinking, but we have only been truly smashed once this year; it is a team with some steel.

The specific players our injury woes have affected is just ridiculous though. This team is undeniably cursed.

Lussick had to play once CHT went down. Webby was never going to not have hooker cover on the bench. I am picking a late change though with Capes shifting from centre. Dunno how it will go though

I’m not trying to start something but that seems like a convenient cherry pick of stats. Any reason for using that specific 4 game span as the basis for wanting him in?
