General Warriors Harold Matthews 2025

Ronan Byford was awesome again. Easily best player so far this season imo.

Dougal Grant's physicality in the contact needs to ramp up a bit, but still think he's a 13 long term, his ball playing is his biggest asset.

Geez - unlucky scheduling for the Harold Matts and SG Ball teams. A game vs the Storm on the day the club's NRL side plays in Vegas (with SG Ball crossing over).
Two screens going, but the Matts game looks pretty scrappy from what I've seen thus far.

Just as I think the ref has been giving us a bloody big 10, a Melbourne player strolls through the ruck and runs 40m to score (but the kicker, after taking an age, slices the kick). 0-4 after 10 mins

Hope this isn't the wheels starting to fall off the title defence!

Warriors young guns even the score after a nice shift to the right - Jacksyn Hill scoring in the right hand corner.

Suprised to see Hansen playing second row, but in the 13 jumper. I thought he looked good at 6, just needed a good 7 he could play off / rely on to run the game.

Storm score out to the right, right on the stroke of half time - kicking for a 8-10 lead into halftime.

(Off to appease the missus with brunch prior to the NRL game, so hopefully the boys can come back!)

I think they just trying to fit in all their halves somehow.

That Ashton Ulaula-Ieremia number 7 has looked like the best player on the field every time he's played. He needs to lose some of that weight though otherwise he'll end up like another Tui Lolohea.

Then the number 6 Alapati is super talented but is new to league. They need to start him and develop him. They did well to pry him away from the Chiefs. Too small to play him anywhere other than in the halves.

Which pushes Hansen out, who's bigger than the other two and could adapt to lock/second row.

All very good points, and then I guess he's landed in the second row because Byford has looked pretty good at lock. I didn't realise Alapati came from the Chiefs - so if he doesn't get game time, he'll just revert back to RU.
