Did anyone see the final of the Super Rugby U20s? My god there are some talented kids in this country! There were a handful of players on either side who looked built for League, do we actively try to recruit these guys?

The electric little Fijian winger has played a fair bit of league for St Thomas and Scorpions. Either he just picked union path or league scouts thought he was too small because they signed half his team mates.

And there's a few kids in our junior grades who'd probably be a part of this game if they followed the rugby path.

Selwyn Cobbo was seen at Auckland Airport I heard. No picture proof but I wouldn’t be mad with that signing

Would be pretty huge if true. Cobbo has the size to essentially play the role that Webby has CNK playing - lots of run meters from the back, but also has that x factor where he can create something from nothing, which is what we really need.
Not sure how much of a ball player he is though as a fb?

Would certainly make things a bit more interesting

He's also not 30 years old and at the end of his career so he also ticks that box!

Pyrenees Boyle-Tiatia played for Wellington 18’s last year in the national competition. Has the ball playing and kicking game of Isaiaya Katoa., but is way better athlete. Harlyn Saunoa the winger for the Blues under-20 played with Bowden at Botany College might be a nice pick up if he doesn’t break through at the Blues.

He's also in the best shape I've ever seen him in. Young fulla is definitely focused & ready this season. Would be a awesome signing if we could get him.

You'd think so but it seems no one will take our money. If we had Cobbo in the spine, Rog and Dallin should be good enough wings for a couple of years.
I don't think we should sign Cobbo for fb. He wouldn't be here long enough. Then we'd be back to needing a fb and back up. We have DWZ for 2 more and RTS for 1. No other wingers in sight..

Id be getting Cobbo a quick payday before he gets another franchise fb spot. Especially if we are looking at a window starting next year.

You wouldn't have him fb for a 2 year deal? Most other clubs would kill for him. Would be a shame if we lost Taine in the process though.

Most other clubs would get him for 5 years. I think winger is one of the few positions you can hire a mercenary. Fb is much to integral to the team..

Rumor on the net is he will be the marquee signing for PNG. Whether that's true or Broncos PR, its a opening to leverage.
