The discussion centers on the NZ Warriors' team lineup for their Round 25 match against the Titans, highlighting debates over player positions and cohesion. User #2 advocates shifting Marata Niukore from the edge due to defensive concerns, while #3 shares a link suggesting Niukore will move to the forwards with Rocco Berry returning to the edge for improved defense. Berry's inclusion sparks debate about Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad's fitness, with #5 proposing Taine Tuaupiki at fullback to rest CNK, though #6 contends CNK remains the superior choice. Doubts persist about Berry's durability and defensive impact, noted by #89#43.
Tohu Harris addresses kicking strategy criticisms in #110, yet users like #116 question Tanah Boyd's execution. The bench composition draws scrutiny, with #31 analyzing prop rotations and Boyd's limitations, while #35 defends Te Maire Martin's utility role over Sam Healey. Coaching strategy under Andrew Webster faces skepticism; #45 critiques the reliance on a "grind" approach against agile teams, but #50 argues limited personnel necessitate this tactic. Barnett's absence is flagged as a key factor in the team's decline by #120, emphasizing his leadership. User #83 summarizes the lineup as the optimal available, urging trust in Webster's decisions amid playoff pressures.
Team Selection, Injury Management, Coaching Strategy
this. people need to manage expectations, JFH was never a like for like with AFB, AFB dwarfs JFH statistically, its the intangibles, worth ethic and standards that come with JFH. hes been fine. Barnett is our premier frontrower. He had maybe the worse game I can remember him having over the weekend, but aside from that, how so?
He's down a bit with running meters. Averaged 127 last year, taking out his injury affected game this year he's at about 112 this year.
Similar minutes, tackles, and errors as last year, with his penalties significantly higher this year (the joys of playing for the Warriors I guess?).
Obviously not saying he's carried us to the top 4, but our team has been much better than it was last year with him included, so what actually is it that has you disappointed?
HIs onfield output is lower than Jackson Ford, with less negative stats though. He had maybe the worse game I can remember him having over the weekend, but aside from that, how so?

Considering the difference in stature and contract value, has he provided the value on the field?
To be fair, we're the second least penalised team this year so he probably can't blame that stat on playing for the Warriors.Similar minutes, tackles, and errors as last year, with his penalties significantly higher this year (the joys of playing for the Warriors I guess?).
While I 100% agree with you, Fish's value off the field and the pride and Mana he is instilling in the young guy's can not be underestimated.
Well, since our kick chase has been absolute rubbish and our Six hasn't been offering much of a foil on the last, it is a bit impossible to get a read on the kicking game.Sorry, Im just not seeing this kicking game of Boyds that everyone talks about....for me he has been disappointing since his debut.
I would have had TMM at 7 and Healey at 14. But actually play Healey for middle 3rd and give Wade some bench time in to get fresh for the finals run.....TMM had 23 minutes at 7 before he got knocked out so is a risk but his creativity is so much better than Boyds.
Warriors 8+
You could argue that the off field influence also translates to on field performance though especially from the younger core Vaumaga, TSS, Halasima, Laban. While I 100% agree with you, Fish's value off the field and the pride and Mana he is instilling in the young guy's can not be underestimated.
While his stats don't match Phone Brake, his influence is positive compared to AFB who was a negative influence on the team.
Barnett is the best by far but the others all have a part to play and watching social media they are such a close knit and happy bunch.
haha yeah....not talked about enough especially with the consistent conspiracy that the refs are out to get us.To be fair, we're the second least penalised team this year

Yeah but the stats are not showing that either. To be noted this is round 1 - 14 this year.Refs are just smarter than the average sheep
Why give penalties when repeat sets and dubious awarded tries achieves the same results?
In the spirit of “Fanning The Conspiracy Flames” I wonder what our ratio of penalties to send-offs and suspensions is?Refs are just smarter than the average sheep

That doesn’t track when and on what count the 6 agains are awardedYeah but the stats are not showing that either. To be noted this is round 1 - 14 this year.

Penalties/set restarts above average by referee and team discipline update - The Rugby League Eye Test
Following on from last week’s mid-season advanced statistic leaders, I thought being halfway through the season it would be a good time to have a look at discipline statistics league wide. Thankfully we’re on the other side of the early season high shot crackdown so things are relatively back to...www.rugbyleagueeyetest.com
