Outside back depth was dire for this year so i get it....not a rookie, cheap, 1 year only.....we aint locked in to long term if he stinks up the joint.

That said, never ever ever.....ever put him opposite Talakai on a footy field again......poor bloke, that game must still give him nightmares.

Other than that its happening folks, nothing we can do about it.......so i guess welcome to the crazy train Morgan Harper!

I don't understand this sort of thinking.

Neilsen, Lowrie, Wright, Ayshford - all signed as starters - that was the best we could get for a starting position.

Harper will play less than 5 games this year. Unless there are significant injuries in which case that justifies the signing even more!

Good cover hopefully like I said Webster can get him up if we need him.
But as it stands hes a poor man's kosi.

Talakai is a bit of an unfair yard stick (not aimed at this post) just saying....he could do that to anyone on his day.

I compare it to Croker getting destroyed by Hurrell over and over...

Ye I don’t have him in my cup side either. People saying he’s not blocking juniors is wrong, I’d rather have Either Kali, Moi-moi or Amituanai or even gmt in the top 30 instead.
I thought we released Zion Zyon Maiu’u to free up some cap to sign a back. Was thinking a solid back.
Would also rather have Zion in the top 30.

People saying that have no clue.

Kali, Moimoi, Vake, MGT are all young specialist centers that have made NSW cup appearances in the last year or two

Ieremia and Fatialofa have played center in NSW cup too. Hiraka Waitai-Haenga another center who would've definitely got a NSW cup debut this year

Just such a dumb dumb signing

Capewell and Halasima would do better jobs filling in at center in an injury crisis than playing Harper.

Lot of bloody couch coaches on this forum. Yes its not Staggs or Mulitalo but did you honestly think we’d be getting one of those for 25’?

If you did Ive got some magic beans i could sell to ya that will make you jump higher, run faster and make your hair grow back.

Clubs in a vice at the moment due to unfortunate injuries. It is what it is. Des managed to get some decent performance out of Harper a few years back…no reason Webby cant do that same if Harper is called upon. Remember the reaction to when we signed Montoya?! That turned out better than we all thought.

What kind of contract is he on? I don't see many people talking about him on here, which is kind of surprising. Looked as good as someone like Pompey in that game.

That's the thing though right? We had Montoya ... potentially a downgrade on Marcelo here. It's a weird signing -

I thought I understood why we released Montoya, and supported that decision, but this makes it look like something has gone really wrong in the background... I guess cap management when you know you've missed on other targets is the most realistic reading of it.

I don’t mind the signing (basis he is on the min contract) as an option to throw him in to first grade if our backline gets more injuries. No way he starts over Ali or Pompey, and to be honest I would go MGT above him.

But if the option is to play a kid that isnt quite ready in their development ( and risk a bad game killing their confidence) or Morgan harper then just chuck him in as you know he can play first grade and if he gets ran over its the same result with no setback.

I would rather a solid back up option but at the end of the day I would take a body to aid in the development of the young centres.
