Yep sometimes there’s a bit too much ‘understanding’ and excuses made for criminal activity. Sure we aren’t all saints and I’m sure all of do something we aren’t supposed to from time to time. However, in this case if you are prepared to take the risks involved to make the quick buck then you’ve also gotta be equally prepared for the consequences of being caught
Could potentially be 14 years jail time but like most high profile stars he'd probably serve something like 8 months...

Agar drama gets wrapped up and on comes the next smh

On the bright side, for any entrepreneurial members of the forum, I sniff a business opportunity has arisen at 2 Beasley Ave.. 🔌

There'll be no boxing day lines or failed RDT's. Addo hyphen Carr gets a new team. Maybe Wairangi should ring Ryles. They might have history

If found guilty, he's an idiot, and deserves the consequences that come his way. No point really of arguing either way IMO, he's a seemingly smart middle aged man, who rolled the dice of life and looks to have lost on this occasion.

I like Wai, I hope he can bounce back and sort himself out.

I agree. And my next point has nothing to do with Wairangi.

You don't have to be guilty to be found guilty.

Criminally framing drug use does not work.

Having laws that punish substance abuse make the situation worse, not better. If people choose to get into drugs on their heads be it.

Take the law out of the scenario. Use those resources to target users with health based help.

We don't punish people for self harming with razor blades and cigarette burns, drug abuse is no different to that type of self harm.

The only reason the Man brought in laws against drug use is it competes with their main supply of alcohol to the masses which is easier to structure an earn around.

I have said many times I do drugs, the stuff in cans and bottles that is legal. Never been into the Green or the other crap, but I don't see my drinking in any way separate to people that get high.

Because it is not bloody different, or better, or less harmful.

The laws are bullshit and people are programmed to see the whole thing with extreme hypocrisy and prejudice.

We do punish people that self harm by going on a shooting spree and harming others.

Drug SUPPLY isn’t victimless. Look at all the victims of drug addled meth heads, etc.

No problem with users or growing for your own use but when you do it as a business for profit, it’s on a completely different level.

This guy is an interesting case. Looking at the amount that are being prescribed medical cannabis by health physicians indicates that there is good outcomes being achieved. Unlikely this guy sold only to those seeking strictly for medicinal use, but the cost is a real barrier for some who aren’t subsidised adequately

Everyone makes mistakes and I'm sure Koopu is feeling the pinch learnt his lesson being in the spotlight and all.
He deserves a second chance just like all of us.
IF he is guilty he will get a second chance as in he'll be released from jail eventually.

What I don't believe he deserves will be another media job. He'll have ruined that all by himself. It's a huge shame really cause of all the former players you wouldn't have guessed the somewhat shy guy he was would have carved the media career he did. All that hard work doing sidelines on SKY, then guest hosting to full-time hosting on māori TVs CODE then making his way to Crowd Goes Wild. Personal use could have been excused. Supply. Yeah, nah, bro...

Chicken and the egg. Supply and demand. The laws haven't stopped the problem.
And this is coming from a former meth addict. It costs something around 100k per prisoner per year. That environment doesn't help even for the small percentage that want to change.
Spend that money on Rehabs etc. I see nz is heading in the right direction with drug court etc but much more could be done.
But it goes back to if society wants to genuinely rehabilitate/reform criminals (which is what prisons are purporting to be with the word "corrections" in them) or merely punish them.

Yet more proof against the BS argument that one of the huge problems the Warriors have always had is that they're not very good at finding the white line.
This is why you don't stay up all night selling coke and hash to an undercover cop who has a sister named Jan who loves you for reasons unexplained.
As Bob Dylan could have told him.
