Halasima back to the bench. Let's hope the reduced minutes means he can come on and add something when he comes on. We have been starting well and struggling in the second halves. Hopefully coming off the bench he can add something.
He's still early on in his career so they will still be managing his minutes.
The Leiataua vs Berry debate is interesting. Berry on form does a lot of the little things. Runs good lines and leads the kick chase. Leiataua if you can get him decent ball can cause the opposition problems.
Both guys are also only just back from injury and short of football. It is one guy just back from injury and could improve on his last performance vs a guy who has been out for a long time and has been struggling with his hamstring since he's come back.
I saw some comments in the post match thread about Metcalf yelling at Halasima and Leiataua to get into position to support. Maybe he's sent back to 💙 Mighty NSW Cup with some work ons. He was quiet on the weekend.

There were times during the Raiders game where I spotted Leiataua in the foreground and thought "Oh yeah, Ali's playing."
He was anonymous. That said, there were players on the field that had their worst game of the season - CHT, Leka, Laban, DWZ. So all in all it was a tough night to make an impact and although it didn't seem it, Ali had as much involvement as Pompey.

In Alis defence, the raiders weaker side is the right (our left) so the plan would be go down there to RTS, didnt work in the rain but it felt like that was the plan with the forced passes, he needs to start getting into the work. I would put him as our best id he did a game where he took 10 runs.

We should do well in this one. Last week was close, we contained a team that often posts high twenties to thirty plus points.
Rabbits are going well too but I feel pretty good about our chances this week, last week was different the Raiders have too much power and speed for us across the park, Souths have Latrell and otherwise a beatable line up.

Good to see Leka back to the bench for two reasons. One is bringing a bit of energy coming on against a not so fresh opposition, and two has looked a bit flat the past few weeks which is not surprising he's only 19. Certainly helps that Niukore has remembered he's a monster and hit his stride the past two or three games, makes the decision a lot easier. Hopefully that continues as haven't seen it since 2023.
That's the thing with all these young kids also, we are playing a grinding style and having to go deep into every game due to our inability to score points. Great for their long term development, but hard to redline every week like the vets when you are only just building up that FG motor.

Great side. Probably our strongest all year. Still not convinced the side will play as named. I can see Marata shifting back to the bench as a middle with Leka coming back into the starting side. A middle rotation of Barney, JFH, Ford and Marata could be our best going forward. Given Ford's big motor, I expect he will be playing more minutes in this game to ease Barney back after SOO. Overall I'd say we have the clear edge in the forwards.
I can see this being a really low scoring game given how clunky both sides attack has been. They are still missing a lot of class in the backline so I don't think they have many pts in them given how they barely scraped over the line against a basket case Broncos and Tigers sides. Gotta watch trell but I'm sure Webby has a plan to deal with him. I'm quite confident of a bounce back this week.

Agree, I'd be disappointed if we lose this.
We have lost 3 games, I don't think CNK is the issue tbh.
