So what's everyone's thoughts on Spencer Lenui v Jono Thurston?

Is Spencer a naughty boy or do we condone his actions?

For me, I think Lenui is a fucking loose unit. While I'm not overly fussed about the actual incident, there's a reason players aren't berating sideline commentators every weekend...because it's bang out of order.

For me, Lenui seems like he can't manage to keep his cool. This is now his 3rd incident (flair up v JWH during a game, then confronting Mam after the match) where he's taken things too far. I don't think it's ban worthy but he needs to pull his head in

Having told a fair few people during my lifetime to go fuck themselves I cannot cast any stones. With Lenui his hothead is likely what makes him effective as a player. Tone that down and it may tone his game down. This is a tough sport not a choir practice and at the end of the day it is just some swear words.

He campaigned to get Leniu suspended longer than what the NRL thought was appropriate.

He was so strong on emotional harm but when someone got physically harmed he went missing.

Mam getting 1 week more than Leniu for potentially killing someone was weak as piss and if JT come out and said something then alls fair but you can’t talk about harm over words then turn a blind eye to actual physical harm imo.

Campaigned is a stretch. He was interviewed on a topic that is relevant to him.

Did Channel 9 go out of their way to interview him for Ezra Mams drug driving? No because it isn't really relevant.

The punishment given has nothing to do with JT.

He works for CH 9, he had ample time to have opinion on Mams suspension and what he thought.
He said nothing.
Just be consistent if you want to ban a guy for 12 weeks over words then voice your opinion over someone almost killing someone getting 9 weeks.

He had a media minder with him who he should've relied & if he was still butthurt bring it up away from the cameras.
Thurston was only doing his job. The broadcast rights pay Leniu's wages after all.

He was pretty animated in the game at times too. The ref called him out at one point with him saying “it’s just footy”. I think there’s going to come a time where he absolutely loses it

No issues with the resentment Leniu has.....just pick your times bro when your gonna tell former legends to go fuck themselves.....sideline during a game probably aint the one.
