The Storm have put forward a bold bid to poach Tom Hazelton immediately from the sharks having cleared 400k of cap space from the immediate retirement of Christian Welch. wtf!

Statement was released from Tom’s management today.

Storm reckon no interest in Hazelton. Interesting he has the same manager as Dylan Brown

All well and good for nrl to highlight players breaking contracts, but clubs are pretty quick to shop players that aren’t performing or not in their plans anymore
These guys are on unbelievable performance based money.

The reality is the ones released are not performing and won’t be meeting internal KPI’s. Releasing them is a nice way for both sides rather than the clubs firing them for not meeting KPI’s (performing to their contract).

It isn’t tiddlywinks (amateur sport) and it’s not like our everyday jobs earning 1/10th what they earn.

This has come from Shane Flanagan wanting players held to their contracts referencing the Francis Molo situation, so while there will be situations you’re talking about, this isn’t one of them. It’s to do with one of the coaching staff that made a comment that hasn’t gone down well with Molo. I find it pretty ironic that one of the most brutal coaches in Flanagan is complaining here, being the Volkman chocolatey shoulder that he cut his contract, making the dragons look pretty amateur in how it was all handled amongst other things across his coaching career. Some spotlight should be cast over nepotism, which he could have some questions to answer with many not seeing his son as worthy of a place at their club. His dad might have him perform better perhaps
