NRL NRL 2025 General Recruitment Thread

Realistically Leiataua has ownership of one centre spot. Given RTS’ standing in the game, perhaps they do want another high profile or strong experienced centre on the other side and RTS didn’t work out as hoped it might? MGT got an opportunity too. You’d think an option would be to have Tuaupiki fullback and put CNK centre? Berry did look good in the period you mentioned, but anyone’s guess how he returns after a long layoff?
Tuapiki and CNK should be the play and upgrade Taufa, he seems to be disposable to the club, (I do rate Taufa).

I hope we are persistent and give Berry time to come back.

Could Berry come back and retrain as a fullback option behind tuapiki?

Can’t recall the poster but yesterday on the recruitment thread, someone said this thread is about to go into overdrive. I responded off topic with a silly post and have been banned along with them by the looks? Me watching what’s going on with Dylan Brown made think it could be surrounding him, but with this hint this morning that we’re looking to bolster our outside backs, it makes me wonder if this is what the poster was referring to?

Give him $1.2 million he reckons. Eels not interested in changing his salary to take out the clauses
Yeah, if you signed him you wouldn't want to indulge him with multiple player options Luke he has had though. If Newcastle got him it would be a huge score for them. With Ponga at fullback and DB at 6 there is enough attacking ability to be able to just have a steady organiser at 7. Add Gagai and Best in the centres it looks like a very, very good backline.

They were supposedly the destination for Tom Hazelton but his asking price is $650k per season apparently. They could be a bit lite up front to justify $2.5 million+ on a couple of players? Several clubs keeping an eye on Dylan Brown according to reports, would be interesting to know who they are?

DRAGONS HOPING ON HAZELTON

St George-Illawarra are close to securing a front-rower they desperately need.

Cronulla Sharks cult hero Tom Hazleton is set to knock back the Newcastle Knights and the Dolphins to sign with the Dragons.

He is a close friend of Daniel Atkinson, another Sharks star who is headed to St George-Illawarra next season.

Hazleton is a workhorse middle forward, who, at 26, is yet to peak. He hails from Goulburn and was recommended to the Sharks by club legend Gavin Miller.

The Sharks were desperate to keep him but can’t match offers from rival clubs.

The Dragons are desperate for more front-row firepower having lost Francis Molo and missed out on a number of props who were on the open market – Reagan Campbell-Gillard, Terrell May and Addin Fonua Blake

D Bags can bugger off with his million+ 🤣
Peter O Sullivan obviously thinks he’s worth it. He was the one offering good money at the start of his career here, now he’s the one at knights prepared to pay him $1.2 million a season according to reports. Not a bad eye for talent for O Sullivan identifying the Inglis, Folau, Latrell Mitchell and many more

I would pay Dylan Brown what he wants and still play him at 6 with Metcalf still the 7.

Let T M Martin fade out after this season.

Let's face it, is CHT ever going to be that good? Is Luke Hansen going to be that good?

When a star player comes up in that position we should at least try if we could.

I've completely changed my tune as usual 😌
His salary apparently goes to a million per season next year and on $750k-$850k this season? Think we should offer him $1 million-$1.1 million

Tbh if we're going to offer a mill or 1.1, what's another 100k if that's what gets him over the line?

In for a penny, in for a pound.

I really believe that if were able to follow Webby's game plan and also have a bunch of x factor across the park - Metcalf, Brown, Ali, Tuaupiki, Halasima and Vaumunga who can create something from nothing, well be difficult to beat
