It would be interesting to know if there’s been shift in policing and what areas? This report is from September again, but mentions a pull back by police on responding to social harm incidents. Of all the listed areas growing at the bottom of the article, a rise in crime against women, elderly and family violence seems genuine by what the news is reporting daily

The same source you used from September is showing an improvement in December. There will always be outliers and examples of crime reported.

Nia Glassie's murderers up for parole
It's been 17 years since Nia Glassie was killed. Now her killers want out of jail.
How do you stop child abuse when one of the woman involved in this has had four children, all taken from her at birth. Is there a case for court ordered or incentivised sterilisation? Is there any real hope for these kids?
Harrowing to read and I’ll never forget that young girl. She looked the sweetest little girl, actually brought tears remembering that. Certainly not typical being a 34 year old mother in a relationship with a 17 year old. So often it’s the stepparent that is the issue in these situations, though the parent is often largely implicit too. Added to this the current climate within those communities of victimhood.
You dont hear a positive story from the likes of the Maori Party which instead feeds on negative attention.
Through the anti establishment narrative by the current activist leadership, Maori are turning away from opportunity and face a failed generation with worst outcomes than past Maori generations.
We see this flowing through in worse crime stats; school expulsion stats; school attendance stats; health outcomes.
Careful what you wish for Maori party supporters (and their coalition partners), your creating a whole disenfranchised block of society with a worse future.

Those stats have been like that prior to the recent TPM actions though? It isn't a result of the "anti establishment" narrative.
