In other news to my eyes Zyon Maiu’u out muscled and had better PCMs than Ale in the NSW cup on the weekend. He needs to get some consistent games under his belt where he shows he can be reliable and relied upon (ie not getting sent off) Stick at it Zyon Maiu’u and I can see first grade time coming your way in the 2nd half of the season.

I would rather have TMM or CHT at standoff than Metcalf in a wet weather forwards bash em up the middle game.
This game is going to be old school rugby league.
The wetter it is, the closer the teams get in the contest. Dry track and I would be very confident of a victory. Wet forecast brings Souths back in to the game.

Cook coming off the bench against our tired pack at the 25 minute mark is part of their game plan. We need a counter strategy. Last year they did the same thing by memory and he cut us to ribbons. He is in good nick at the moment too.

Probably just coincidence but Zyon Maiu’u and AFB are both playing 44 minutes in their separate grades

We had great weather over Easter after cold wet and windy conditions were forecast.
Who knows??

I am getting behind Zyon Maiu’u. Really moves bodies out of his way when he hits it up. Strangely his tape measurements on the web don't back up how he appears on my TV though 6 foot 106Kgs
Dale Husband was making comments of his intent he was running with, TSS had a great game too. Also thought Ale made some great runs and good to see nobody dropping their lips about being in nsw cup

For those wondering why TMM over CHT seems Webby wants to keep CHT on the bench for his utility likely to see him at 14 again going off this.
Thanks for that.

That clarifies it then, TMM is the no2 stand off and CHT is there or thereabouts for that fourteen job - Dylan Walker will be a relief forward instead of mr fix it (all things being equal Walker was signed to play NRL so even if CHT becomes the Utility, Walker will still get picked every week as Tohu's relief).

I have been thinking about how they are managing CHT. If he is not selected, it may be purely a function of a return to NRL program designed not to repeat past mistakes where he lost his passion for play in favor of other interests.

I would imagine if the Warriors had done their homework when the resigned CHT, they would have asked what were the challenges for him last time, and what would help him to be on a different path this time.

Speculating here, but perhaps burn out came up, perhaps disappointment around the pressure he puts on himself, the pressure the game and the environment puts on a kid...that kinda thing.

Bearing in mind he came into the NRL with commentators saying he was the most exciting junior prospect out of NZ, and then imagining how he felt as he had his struggles after that.

It would make sense for the Warriors to then come up with a plan that try's avoid the same scenario that made a promising young player make a shock exit from the club while the club still wanted him at the Warriors.

This should have sparked and exit interview at the time, and it should have included where things might have gone wrong in terms of CHT's development pathway, so it makes sense if this time the plan is to strip it all back, start over, ease him back in, check in with him all the time, have built in breaks from play, give him time in the NSW cup to actually round out his game under less stressful conditions.

Might be just over thinking it, well I am not even saying I think this is the case, rather, it always strikes me that there is a lot more layers to what happens behind the scenes and in players minds, a well run club will put players development first, in the belief that in the longer term, that is putting the team first.

Terrible forecast for Saturday in Sydney & warriors don't play well in the rain

I suspect there will be a few changes to the side compared to what has been named.

This is how i suspect they will roll out

1. CNK
2. DWZ (assuming comes though week ok)
3.Berry
4. RTS
5. Montoya
6. TMM
7. SJ
8. AFB
9. Egan
10. Barnett
11. Ford
20. Laban (debut)
13. Harris

21. CHT
12. Niukore
16. Afoa
17. Tevaga

18th Pompey
19th Lussick

Lussick likely to play cup as he missed last week and needs a run.

Laban I think comes into starting side as Niukore steels up the second stint by replacing AFB. Afoa to being defence whilst Tevaga brings energy. Laban to focus on defence covering Capes role.

Still a great team - bunnies down on confidence and troops. Solid matchup for Saturday.
I had the same team.

Bit of a concern we’ve got sponsorship from maxigesic. If we had red bull too I’d be thinking you’re spot on
Made me laugh, and mad at the same time, Jeepers we had some entitled pricks at club and international level during the sleeping pills and energy drinks saga.

Pretty shit what they did to the Coach of the Kiwis that tour, I remember watching video of them playing crash in the hotel hallways....posting video of a fake snake episode.

They went purely to take the piss. Bully and JWH and others grinning tits off during the Anthems they looked wasted.
