General Your 2025 team

You’re the one saying it clear that he’s 4th in line.
I disagree because he brings a different style of play.
Known commodity like TMMs 8 seasons in the NRL?
I’ve seen TMM be a passenger more times that I would like to.
I don’t want to bag TMM because I hope he does find that form of the 5 games last year.
You said we were in trouble if he was handed the 7 jersey, how do you know Webby hasn’t got him mind to start there?
I mean you answered your own question, when has Boyd in his career ever even gotten close to TMM’s mid season form this year?

For even 2 consecutive games let alone 5…

Okay and what is this new style he brings? He’s robotic and lacks any creativity.

We can stack our bench differently, depending on the opposition.
If we think speeding up the game to tire the oppositions forwards will help, then bringing on Clark and Walker will do the trick (similar to Jazz and Walker in the past).
But if we think we can roll over the top of them, then a 20 minute spell with a double impact play of Vaimauga and Niukore coming on together could be our very own version of the Mighty Ducks Bash Brothers.

Yes as a front rower.
I reckon he’s in for a big year. The way Barnett bounced off him when the Kiwis played Australia got me really interested. Last person I saw Barnett bounce off like that was NAS a couple of years ago. I like the potential of the impact he could have in the middle. In saying that, it takes a special player that edges and centres are to brace for impact and hold those crash balls, which he can. Either way I think he’s in for a big one

Come on Frank, no one complains when you continue to whine about our back row.
Debating who our starting playmakers are going to be is valid surely.
It certainly is valid. But elevating either one above their obvious midiness is wild.

Outside of his rare good games, TMM may as well be out fishing.
Boyd doesnt go missing in games, he never turns up.

We wont win on either of those playmakers current abilities, one of them is going to have to take the step up to the next level.

Totally fair.
Basically what I am arguing for with regards to Boyd is to give him a shot in the jersey before we condemn him.
Webby might work wonders for his game or he may not but at least see what he can do first.

Massively concerned for what’s coming up in 2025.

Losing SJ, Tohu, AFB and a few other decent role players I just don’t see how we don’t get the spoon.

Especially when you see every other team has improved or stocked up from last year.

Hope you’re wrong like I’m sure you hope you are too. I remember last year in preseason hearing Aaron Woods say Warriors won’t cope with the expectations after a successful 2023. I thought fuck you, you’re wrong 🥺. Prick wasn’t far off the mark, but I think it depends how you look at it. Plenty of games close enough to change the complexion of the season if we hold our nerve. We didn’t unfortunately, whereas we did in 2023. That mental fortitude wasn’t there, but it wasn’t there when SJ and Tohu were in the team and it was when they weren’t. I’ve got my own theories on AFB not doubting the best prop in the world status but his buy in for the 2024 season. That’s mainly where my optimism sits is the expectation isn’t as great, which is something we need to address, but I’m hoping that resilience is back. That was the word that best described the team in 2023. You could well be right though and it takes a couple of seasons to adjust to a new playing style without SJ, Tohu and AFB?

Nah, we're not getting last ... I swing between think we'll go okay to slightly below average ... truth is we're way more in the dark than we have been during the last 2 pre-seasons... no announcements on where key players will play (apart from a maybe 6 obvious ones) I don't think anyone outside the system can be sure how the other half of the team is even going to line up .. our pack is still above a pass mark, we're not getting the spoon

I wouldn't worry too much about TMM vs Boyd, I reckon they will both be on the field. LM is more unproven than both of them and prone to injury, he is quick but haven't seem much else that would indicate he is going to be a great half.

That’s what’s exciting for me, I’ve got no idea who’s going to line up where apart from probably DWZ and JFH. That gives me an impression of good depth with so many filling multiple positions to a high standard

cmon Metcalf’s easily our best half

Yep, I'd go that way too - the trust in Niukore has waned tho, I've really really wanted to, cos the guy can roll when he gets going - hoping he has a turn around (as a front rower)
Niukore after his suspension (utter bullshit) and then his injury never regained his previous form. Hopefully he is over his injury and overcomes the negative impact that his suspension caused and has a blinder.

Definitely out done yourself Mr. White we now have a new word to add to our vocabulary. (Midiness) will go down in the annals of forum history. ;)

I think who is first choice goal kicker will have a lot of sway on how the team is picked. If LM is first choice then form will pick the team, he’s a lock in the halves. If Pompey gets a center spot/kicker, CNK will play fullback, TMM 7. If TT kicks CNK will be forced into center. Boyd will change the team if he is first choice, you can have Berry at center. First one take podcast should be Daryl Halligan.

How are you measuring that?
Best field kicker - no
Best organizer - not much competition but still probably no
Best runner - yeah
Best at setting up others - no
Best at keeping medical staff busy - yes he is up there.
Best goal.kicker - no
Best at drop.goals - maybe I dunno

What do you think he is Best at?
