Do you remember that Simpsons episode where Homer becomes a boxer?

For those who haven't, he basically just stands there and takes punches until the other boxer is too tired, then pushes them over.

That's what last night felt like to me.
Love a good Simpsons reference and that’s an apt one!

Will the Storm game be like when Homer came up against Drederick Tatum? Hope not. Who will fly in with the fan powered backpack to rescue the side…

Watched this live at mt smart, leka changed the entire game single handedly.

It was an arm wrestle until 60 mins, with the warriors switching from kick to winger, to run the ball and feed our beast in Ali.

Marata has a young fella chomping at his heels, and I’d expect by round 10, he’ll move to the bench as a middle with leka on the edge. He’s that good.

Best thing was our line defence, we turned them away and away, and one the territory battle.

Biggest criticism is Metcalf. He ran for 9m. That’s unacceptable, for him. He’s a ball runner, run first pass second. He’s still under a little pressure imo, Tanah & TMM making huge statements in cup. Metcalf has time, because we’re winning. But he really does need to step it up, could see dylan walker and him arguing a few times. Attack hasn’t clicked yet, but it will need too soon.

I was at the game thinking it was Demetric carving up and announcing himself to the NRL.
Got home and it was Leka.

We might need to upgrade this boy soon - that was immense.
I was watching on TV and I thought Glen Larmer was getting his commentary wrong. Somehow I had them back to front in my mind. Unless the Warriors switched their jerseys to play a mind game on us !!!

Notable metres

CNK 30 runs 314m. Godlike
Back 5 all over 100m

Metcalf 2runs 9m Needs to run first early on
Fish 14runs 128m always solid
Egan 10runs 98m maintaining
Barnett 15runs 159m beast

Capewell 10 for 84m poor and weak contact
Marata 6 for 48m
getting phased out for youth

Clark 15 for 164m 10/10 every week so far
Walker 14 for 134m big
Ford 15 for 148m Crazy to talk about dropping him

I thought Tuapiki was always dangerous with the ball

Why aren’t we trying him in the halves ??

His ability to find holes by drifting and then straightening up to burst through - that’s what Metcalf needs to learn..

Metcalf will drift looking for a hole then stop suddenly and change direction. It’s such a jaggered clunky motion compared to TT which is always smooth and seamless
Te Marie Martin stood out in NSW cup - we must put him back in the 7 jersey.

Agree totally. Every time Leka got the ball he looked the goods. Stays on his feet and drags guys with him. His play the ball time is outstanding.

Speaking of jamming. This was a pretty cool video where Jordan Pereira gave some input on why wingers are coached to jam in and what queues they're coached too recognize and jam on.

The first person who speaks you can follow.

The second person barely speaks english fluently and spews a nonsense of jargon that is reads out the back looks .
