Does anyone here think Martin could be kept here as a straight utility next year?

Im starting to think with metcalf down for half a season next year also, it might not be a bad thing?
in a way it's better a veteran like him play the utility role than make a junior do it and hold back their development playing here, there and everywhere.

Though if they don't give Healey any game time, he won't want to see out that third year.

Probably mean that we'd lose Hanson but I could live with that.
It'll be interesting to see if fringe NRL guys, from both Q & NSW Cup, swarm to the North Sydney Bears next season. That'd be my career move if I was Hanson knowing Linnane & Jett Cleary are guaranteed first graders in 2026

Man I want to see more of healey in top flight! He could be a point of difference off the bench when the game is opening up.

It is super conservative having martin on the bench.

Fair point. I think a focus on how we get him right needs to be (and I expect is) the question. Continuity has been a challenge for sure. But I think he is an attacking threat we have missed for too long in centre and capable of really good D on his day, and certainly big and strong enough to be intimidating either side of the ball. Let's not be quick to discard, I still thing he has the capability of being a top 5 centre in the league and I back Webby and co. to get him there, and he's one of my long term 'dynasty' lads to hold along with Leka, Demi and Laban. Sure he's got to front up, but let's not be too quick to throw him on the scrap heap. This year... I think they're back to easing him through. Another pre-season, he'll be solid. Another, with effort and a decent health run, he'll be gold.
Our priority for next season should be the fastest centre we can get. Even if we have to put Metcalf out there.

Some of the Wahs D yesterday was pretty ordinary too
Against Storm Raiders
They’ll kill us on attack
If we tackle like that

Was it douhei who just walsed thru Egan and someone else?
Looked too easy almost.
