Yeah I was just reviewing Mole’s quote and it referred to speedy outside back before the season kicks off - no way that is Mulitalo unfortunately. Great signing for 26 however.

Surely it is no coincidence that Sio Kali and MGT are named so high up on the trial 1 team list. Why wouldn't we promote one of them into the top 30?

Not saying it is/isn't the right call, but you lose one fringe top 30 forward and replace them with a fringe top 30 back. Then you still have one spot to recruit externally before round 1 and another open for anything interesting available later in the year.

Are we going to recruit/promote 2 outside backs?

if berry is no good think it needs to be primarily a centre who could play wing, Roger will have another average year if we keep moving him back and forth every week. MGT and Kosi can take hit ups and finish in the corner if they are pressed into service on the wing as backups - both of them just need to superglue their hands

Many teams do this. Josaiah Pulu and Lachie Galvin are two examples in the last 12 months of clubs digging their heels in and refusing to give an early release for their juniors to go play somewhere else.

His point still stands though. It’s not that uncommon for teams to refuse the release of players. How often it happens with NSW cup level guys would be hard to guess since it’s not exactly likely to hit the media like when players like Hunt have it happen.
