It’s a strong defensively minded, stay in the grind, wear them down, kick chasing, have no errors, no 6 agains and no penalties to concede kind of forward pack.
Start of sets with the back three will be okay.
However where the hell are the points coming from.
Need Egan and TMM being crafty out of dummy half setting up half chances for Demi and the faster bench forwards when they come on.
Fish, Marata and Capewell can empty the tank in the first 30 and the young bench can finish the game.

I think its the best 17 we have available to implement Webby’s game plan. Need to play to our strengths which is getting the ball in the right areas and make the Titans work out of their own 20. Berry and Boyd are the best options for that.

Need a lot less errors and better disclipline to do that though.
The problem for me is Webby's game plan. Obviously didn't work last time we played the Tits.
It's a good plan if you have the cattle and the conditions and the opposition are a bunch of numpties at the back. Tits obviously weren't.
Where's the creativity and the ball players
Shouldn't there be a plan B (or C, D etc?)

We werent overly creative last week when we struggle to score tries against a team with three injured. We simply dont have the players to be creative. There just arent the ball runners to do at the moment.

Run hard, kick deep and defend well is the best chance we have going forward this season. Next year with a couple new players and Metcalf and Barnett back I’d expect a bit more flair. But for now thats the best tactics we have available.

What annoys me about this list is that I guess it's saying we're going to play to the defence and grind end of the spectrum, but it still has those huge problems with connection between the middle and the edge which has had our right side leaking like a sieve. Why wouldn't you at least have Marata in the middle and a more mobile second rower? Following that logic you'd also have TMM in at 7 as a better defender than Boyd.

Could be well wrong, but I really wouldn’t be surprised if the team that lined up at kickoff looked quite different. Anyone seen the nsw cup team?

Yeah, I think your intuition correct to some degree - even if it's just some positional switches - the logic seems muddled for me with this 1-13

edit, to answer your question, Healey, Taine and Bunty not named for Cup, Kosi and Kalani are

Agree to disagree. I think we do have the players, Taine at the back, TMM at 6 (I know ,I know JN but it was working in Cup) Berry back or CNK in the centres, doesn't really matter. Healey definitely on the bench and getting some minutes.

I'm not sure that Webby's A gameplan can be all that successful against teams that play 2nd phase and have quick backs,

Hope to be proved wrong.

Not sure Rick O’Shay 😕 Cup and NRL are worlds apart.
I am not Robinson Crusoe in this forum who is not a fan of tmm at 6.
Also not a fan of unnecessary late week changes.
Also I would have Healey in the 14 spot but hey.. 🤔

Didnt you hear? AFL mate 🙃

Doubt big Tom could even fit one of his tree trunks into those fruity little shorts the fumble ballers wear.

Anyway, there's enough there to grind out a win against the Titans.

Come play off time though, I think the top 5/6 defensive sides will swallow our offence up easily with this lineup.
