What a let down this season is. I thought we’d be different but we’re doing a carve and copy of the Cowboys 2022-23 seasons. Getting that familiar shit feeling from past times when all we were hoping for was a win every now and then, amongst all the too many shitty performances like today. When in reality we all had hopes of a premiership this year.

We definitely fucked up and killed the momentum bringing Harris, SJ etc back. Bring in all our young brigade Halasima, Sifakila, Maiu’u, Leiataua, Graham-Taufa, Pasikala, Tauapiki they know how to win. Give Martin the keys to the team, him and Metcalf will make a good halves pairing.

Able - yes
Fit - no

It's all between the ears at his age mate, you can lose ability, but you don't lose instinct.

Cooper Cronk won a GF with one arm, and he was older than Shaun.

We've barely fielded a full strength squad all season, get that right and build the plan around a fully fit SJ.

There's a reason the Roosters were after him and it's not because of what we're expecting of him.

I think we're just going to have to agree to disagree on this one. Personally, I think he's physically done and maybe that's impacting him mentally.

Whatever the reason, it's not great for the team and presents him as a weak cog sadly.

I'm going to ignore the Cronk comparison.

That press conference gave me the shits and unfortunately it's not going to be one of those 24 hour bugs.
It was what the players needed to hear. They needed a cuddle after losing by 60 points so he circled the wagons around his flock and threw rocks and grenades back at any reporter who questioned one of the players. Mother Hen performance protecting the chickens.

One thing I don't understand is that 5 or 6 Warriors had the worst game of their careers and will individually be very dissappointed with themselves as high achieving sportspeople.
How is it possible 5 or 6 guys had their worst game of their career on the same day. What happened in the lead up to this match?
Did the coaching staff put too much pressure on them to win so in the end they were not relaxed and calm
It wasn't a short turn around?
We had plenty of crowd support
Was it the worst pre-match speech of all time by Webster
Did they all have a virus
Was there a waitress called Suzie who poisoned their food
I work with numbers and statistics for a living. The odds are astronomical that 5 or 6 normally good players would all have a nightmare on the same day.
Did they underperform on purpose?
Are those 5 or 6 players easily influenced by scoreboard pressure?

Something happened in the build up to this game that was out of the usual is my suspicion. But no idea what.

Is that our worst ever loss?
I vote Yes.
Take into account how badly the opposition were going going into today's game.
Take into account it looked like the Titans had injury issues (I recall one player literally hobbling to the sideline, don't know the result of that?) while we had none.
The only thing the Storm have to hold on to now (they're now equal-leaders in the Beat The Warriors By The Most Point Stakes) as that they still are the leaders in the Scored The Most Points Against The Warriors In One Half Stakes at 54. And we did have two injury issues (at least) in the ANZAC 2022 Massacre...

You should expect that, um, no, brah, we ain't! We's The Wahs! Oh and let's go to the concert T'ursday and get 'faced and get homes 'bout 4am F'iday man but oh, fuck, no, being in Sydney's mean! How can I be at my best 9PM Saturday, brah!? Brah need his sleep!

A bit of that. But the only changes he will make is ones forced by injury. So maybe SJ out. Capewell, Barney and DWZ will come back in and will add something. But the two fundamental issues for me are SJ who is far to predictable and Tohu who is past his best by a fair margin. AW said they will go back and look at what changed in their preparation from when they were going good. That's not what needs looking at. Back row/lock Vs Panthers Ford, Barnett, Walker Vs Dolphins Ford, Barnett, Walker Vs Cowboys Niukore, Barnett, Walker and then in all three games TMM calling the shots with CNK and CHT at 6.

I really hate saying it but it doesn't appear to be coincidental the results are when we are back to Tohu and SJ - two absolute greats when it comes to kiwis and Warriors players but seemingly more and more like they have reached that point in their respective long careers where father time and an aging body has caught up with them. . And not helped tonight with a baffling Walker at 12 selection either.

If SJ is injured that may force Websters hand to go back to a TMM/CHT halves pairing which will be a big step in the right direction. Walker needs to be 13 for at least 60 minutes. Which leaves Tohu on the bench covering prop and maybe 20minutes at 13.

So, you may be right with AW circling the wagons and giving his players a hug. But it's meaningless if the issues, which it seems everyone can see, aren't addressed and changed. I think he genuinely believes in his selections this game which leads me to believe that he wasn't just circling the wagons. And that's what gives me the shits.
