Team List Sharks v Warriors - [Round 14, 2025]

Sounds good but our poor points differential makes us vulnerable to the chasing pack. Storm should win tonight and Manly's loss good but I think we need a good win against the Sharks to give us some breathing space.
The p/d criticism really is getting tiring and is losing its effectiveness with every win we rack up. As has been pointed out numerous times on this forum, our p/d at this pt in 2023 was actually negative. We finished with +124 that year. Given our soft draw to end the year, there's every chance that our p/d will pick up as well. With a young, inexperienced halves pairing that is still developing combinations, it's only natural for the attacking shape to take time.

Either will be Warriors 1-12 or Sharks 13+
Gonna be 1-12 either way. I can't see them blowing us out either given that they will be missing the polish at the end of their attacking shape. They are missing both of their wingers (Stonestreet and Mulitalo) who have played most of this season. Katoa is in his first game back from a knee reconstruction surgery which I understand normally takes 6 months to recover from. So he will be very rusty and a clear target for us. Expect this will be another yuck game like the Canberra match where we just see a physical battle up front without much ball movement.

Shut down AFB and we win the middle. It's really that simple. Like us in previous years, the sharks pack is really a one-man show: if you look at the stats, the only one that routinely makes 100+ meters per game is AFB. Looks like Ford actually makes more average running meters than every other middle in the sharks pack. We really dodged a bullet not signing Hamlin-Uele because he hasn't developed as many thought he would have. No Hazleton and Rudolf for this game is great for us. Sharks were flying early on with a forward rotation of AFB, Hazleton, Rudolf. Oregon Kaufusi really looks like their version of Bunty.
I think Ford is way better at prop than anywhere else, his hands don't let him down as much as our wide and the angles he runs gets him great yardage. Plus he can play big mins. I never liked him as a second rower but like him very much as a prop. Hope he goes well.

I fear AFB is going to destroy us this weekend, really missing Barney to hold a tough D line.
Want to see a long term plan with Niukore, what is he? Edge or middle?
At his age he needs to go middle in my opinion, he has the impact to do well there too. But isn't this his contract year? He's really not worth his contract....he has to be one of the most overpaid players in the game, isn't he on 800k plus?

made 200+ metres against a full strength Raiders pack. Looking forward to seeing what he can do against the sharks.

Sorry-won't mention again

So stellar backline for our standard

Cruel for Ale

They want TSS to be Ford workhorse for 30min? Hope Laban gets decent game time for both second rowers so Leka doesn’t get stuffed with fatigue again

Really hope Ford steps up and morph into a Barney in the next few weeks
