Cannot really blame them, can you imagine running a factory where your workers were getting slapped and hit about the head on TV.....

Also, the masses are bitching, non stop, about the officiating.

Like, every week there is some form of story about how the refs screwed up some call.

I wouldn't wanna be one.

as crazy as this sounds maybe they should introduce helmets for players .. pretty much wipes away the risk of head injury ….

Bring back the shoulder charge, the biff, swinging arm to the head.. with a helmet it ain’t hurting anyone
don't know about that - as soon as you do that you get much more reckless charges etc.. it'd be nfl without scrimmage

It is the new norm.

NRL are protecting themselves from CTE lawsuits.

They seemed to suddenly switched to a zero tolerance policy about two weeks ago. It's going to be painful watching the transition to the new norm, it's quite a radical shakeup.

100%
I used to be in the harden up team but the collisions alone will probably give these blokes CTE or symptoms of it.
We need to get rid of the high shot.
I put it on the coaches, stop trying to slow the tackle down and wrap the offensive up by tackling around the ball.
Lower the tackle, off loads will make a huge comeback.
Huge shake up but needs to be done for the players benefit imo.

Height might become a big advantage in the middle again, good for NAS, shame for Jazz

Do they actually pay the fines though? Pretty sure the club pays for them?
Pretty sure you are right. Also recall clubs getting pissed at Stuart for costing them too much.

Not surprising the clubs pay for it. They used to pay for players renovations back in the day to get around the cap. A few high tacklers here and there is a lot cheaper.
