Was a really fun one to watch. But a really weird game.
Manly even with there subpar front rowers seemed to steam roll the middle leading to a early lead. Knights who know they have a bottom 3 set of front rowers and lock, decide to just not even attempt going down the middle outside of the backs doing it at the start of sets. I cannot think of a game where that works... Normally the opposition catches on after the 2nd or 3rd try to stop letting them dance across the face of your line and play with some aggression in defense.

Yes. Yes they are.
Definitely an entertaining watch. Newcastle ain't doing jack this season, so the game was more a reflection on Manly at the end of the day. Solidified the narrative that they are too inconsistent to be a threat this year. They just can't win two games straight. Coming in and out of the 8 is going to be their lot in life for the rest of this season.

it's just never a good PR strategy to go after the fans, even if you think you are in the right. Whether you think he is right or not, AOB does have the worst self-awareness of any coach when it comes to the media. Whether it is blaming the origin draw for the loss last week or the travel in their loss to us in Christchurch, he just comes across as a whinging git who is always having a go at someone.
I understand that broadcasting deals aren't the most flexible things and game times are set well in advance. But it is quite ludicrous that our game, which is clearly game of the round, isn't in the prime time slot on Saturday (7:30 AEST). That is instead given to the QLD poo-slinger between Titans and Broncos. It's time we gave the NFL flex scheduling approach a bit of a go.
