NRL Round Discussion NRL Round 10, 2025 Discussion

Said to my mate when he slapped Havili to hurry up and play the ball, he’s gonna try and sneak a late try. So Fkn smart, end of year, for and against could be the difference.

Heck we need some sneaky tries. That field goal, shows when guys like him and Turbo are fit, unstoppable forces of nature. Pity both are made of glass.

Cobbo, hope we never sign him, too lazy and switches off too much. About as reliable as Temu phone charger!

You'd think years of being a Warriors supporter would have me sympathising with supporters having to deal with teams that get off to a lead before shitting the bed. I just can't seem to find any pity for Brisbane though. I did find my old avatar from a decade ago when I glanced a peek on their forum though so thanks Broncos.

So much for the NRL's "Expert" Tipping.
Everyone's on 0/3 except for Andrew Molinaroli who's on 1.
And if the Bulldogs win it'll be 0/4 and AM still on 1.
Jeez. Quite a herd mentality there. Only 3 picking the Dragons. Only 2 picking the Cowboys. Everyone picking the Storm. only 2 picking the Sharks.
Could be a bunch of missuses/hubbies and kids singing for their supper come Sunday night!

you just have to spend 5 mins on the broncos forum to disabuse yourself from that notion. They are the most arrogant fans in the comp.

Today's games are huge. We want Dogs, Wahs (of course!) and Panthers. For me, the first one is the least likely given the Dogs outs in the forwards. But if all this happens, we will be outright 2nd and be 6 pts ahead of 6th. To put ourselves 3 wins ahead of the chasing pack is a great position to be in as origin hits because many of those teams are heavily impacted by origin.

That last Latrell try should have been no try. He surrendered to a tackle. Someone laid hands on him and then he bolted free for the try line. BS try.
Lol what? At what point was his ball carrying arm touching the ground? Then when he was moving he was touched but his momentum certainly hadnt been stopped.

Surrender tackle
Surrender Tackle

Occurs when the player in possession surrenders his run in or at the line. Defender are permitted to work the player on the ground, move to a bear hug position, lay on the playerin possession or spin to the front of the tackle. It is the sole responsibility of the Referee to identify this tackle. If a player surrenders, he cannot be lifted or dragged into touch or in-goal.

His run never started and no defender touched him prior to him starting it.

He certainly surrendered his run and indicated he wasn't going to run on that play and was going to accept being tackled. The rest of the quote says things the defender may or may not do at their discretion.

He feigned he wasn't going to compete on the play then opportunistically changed his play. It wasn't necessarily a dog act. But it wasn't fair dinkum play.

So it's up to the ref as to what constitutes a surrender tackle.

Edit: got rid of the first bit as it was already posted and wasn't really contributing to my point.
