Phil Sami and Brian Kelly have been told by the GC Titans Club they will not be offered another contract at the end of 2026.
AKP has been told he cant leave and must fulfil his contract-after media reports of NZW interest.

So can Sami and Kelly leave if they find another club?

Parramatta are bracing for a fight to keep Zac Lomax after they were told of the star winger’s interest in a potential code switch as the pursuit of high profile rugby league players to join Rugby 360 heats up.
It is understood that there is significant attention on Lomax’s services to join the breakaway rugby union competition despite the NSW and Australian player contracted to the Eels until the end of 2028.
While the planned competition is not due to kick-off until September next year it would mean Lomax would need a release from the final two years of his Parramatta contract.
This masthead linked Lomax with R360 earlier this month. Since then the Eels have been told that Lomax may be open to a switch.
Lomax could potentially earn more than double his $650,000 salary in rugby league.

Whether or not the Eels would consider releasing Lomax – who only joined them from St George Illawarra this year – is another question.
However Lomax headlines a potential list of targets with R360 also closing in on the signatures of Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, Ryan Papenhuyzen and Nelson Asofa-Solomona.
Unlike Lomax, Tuivasa-Sheck and Papenhuyzen are free agents at the end of next year.
The Storm and Papenhuyzen have a mutual option on the fullback’s services for 2027. The Storm and Papenhuyzen separately have the power to take up or reject a one-year extension. That decision needs to be made by November, but he will be free to leave the club at the end of next year.
While Asofa-Solomona is still contracted to Melbourne until the end of 2027, the Storm won’t stand in his way if he can land a mega payday in rugby.
R360 hierarchy were in Australia meeting with players and agents recently while NRL players have always had Zoom meetings.

The competition needs a reported 200 players signed by the end of September to kickstart the global tournament next year.
It remains unclear if the competition will even get off the ground.
Former Wallabies coach Michael Cheika said rugby was “ripe for a revolution” on NRL360 this week.
“The players that are in this particular iteration of it, they’re coming in a slightly different way,” Cheika said.
“I don’t think they’ve got a big broadcaster with them or anything. I think they’re trying to build the comp and then take it to someone else, so a lot of it is conditional work.
“I think the idea, the concept of something new, is right. I think it’s there for the opportunity.
“Whether these guys can pull it off, I’m not 100 per cent sure, because I’d like to see something a bit more solid, broadcaster, that type of momentum behind it as well.”

If Lomax were to go it would be more of a blow than RTS who is at the end of his career or NAS who has discipline issues and at his size fitness is always going to be a priority to keep up with the game.

Lomax signed with the Eels and then ended up becoming an Origin and International afterwards. If he was on the market now he could have gotten more. The NRL clubs also value specific positions so he may have hit his value for an outside back.

The cap will be going up soon with the new deal. Will it be it time to starve off any threats from R360? The NRL is probably more the extra area they are getting to top up the number of players. It would still need union players to make up the bulk of the competition.

Some of the comments near the end indicate there is still a lot of work for R360. A broadcast deal is typically what makes competitions viable. That is one thing the NRL have on it's side.

At least this R360 speculation has the players needing a release from their contracts.

Some of the arguments to justify SBW walking out on the Bulldogs saying he is playing union a league contract doesn't mean anything was BS. If I have a contract to work in IT I can't go off to another company and work in a different industry.
