NRL NRL 2025 General Recruitment Thread

Shibasaki is still locked in with the Broncos for 2026 though. I would dare to dream that the Broncos would let Mariner go from the last year of his deal to free up space to keep Shiba in 2027 and beyond.

You would have Mal sniffing about though of course, so would come down to whether Deine prefers a Bear Hug or a Cuddle™

Hard to say what his contract status is? Grant Anderson heading to broncos from storm next year means he’s probably surplus to requirements

“Upgraded to a development deal [started the year on a train and trial] not long after for the remainder of 2025, he was then selected to Billy Slater's Queensland State of Origin squad for Game 3 in a stunning decision.

In an article regarding Shibasaki's selection, the club also confirmed he had been promoted to the Top 30 for the remainder of 2025.

His management then confirmed to Zero Tackle that he was contracted through to the end of the 2026 campaign as part of Brisbane's Top 30.“

Will be interesting to see come November what teams put offers to him. As mentioned Grant Anderson heading there and Kotoni Staggs will be their centres, he’s too good to be a depth player. Perhaps they put him on a wing?

Is Jesse Arthurs still on the wing there? Haven't heard his name mentioned much.

Id pay Cam Murray 1m too. One of the top 13s in the comp.

Obvs Clark has been a revelation this season so that's not what we need, but he's deffo worth it imo
Hard disagree. But you are entitled to your view. I would probably rate Murray around 8th out of 17 teams for locks. I would have the following ahead of him

Elite
Yeo
Tino
Mcinnis

Very good
Loiero
Dylan Walker
Erin Clark
Carrigan

Decent
Radley
Murray

Pretty Good
Jake Turbo
Jazz
Cotter

Bit Budget
Crossland
Klees Haas

Crazy. I'd put Murray above McInnes in your list. He's a top tier player. Would I play a Lock $1M? No, but that doesn't mean he isn't Elite.
Bit of recency bias coming into this considering he hasn't played all year.

Come on mate.. Carrigan and Murray are the top 2 following Yeo and Tino. Easy. Murray is a leader on and off the park also, I don't raise my eyebrows at all hearing he's on $1mill.

I have had private one on one's through the PMs with some heavy weight posters on this forum who think Murray is a product of the Sydney media machine hype. I would wager the silent majority on this web site who often don't respond to posts think both Murray and Radley are 2022 news and neither of them is relevant in today's NRL. Notwithstanding that Murray is a lock in any Kangaroos side when healthy.

Erin Clark is miles better than than 2024/2025 Murray. I wanted to say 2025 Murray but he hasn't really played this year so I have hyphenated 2024/2025 together.

As one of the heavy weight posters (105 kg's) I have had no discreet talks with Wrighty.
