That deal will be the end of O'Brian, I would not let ponga go for Brown!

Peter O Sullivan still a big fan obviously. Could go either way with the talent he’s previously spotted in the pastIf I read that right Knights sign Brown and release Ponga to the Roosters?
If that happens every Newcastle Knight Management member should be sacked.
The fan rebellion will be off the charts.
Brown would be a good signing but not at the expense of their best player.Peter O Sullivan still a big fan obviously. Could go either way with the talent he’s previously spotted in the past
Guess they’ve tried to shift Ponga to the halves a couple of times and it hasn’t shifted the dial and they’re not going to the next level with how things are going for them. This might not be answer either, but what they’re doing isn’t either by the looksBrown would be a good signing but not at the expense of their best player.
Pretty radical leap to basically trade your best player for him though.Guess they’ve tried to shift Ponga to the halves a couple of times and it hasn’t shifted the dial and they’re not going to the next level with how things are going for them. Have seen it before and think I’ve mentioned it on here before regarding Ponga and interest from roosters, plenty of rubbish rumours too. This could be? But certainly seen it mentioned before. They seem to have a few decent fullbacks coming through, so maybe that’s apart of the thinking? Think they committed to a young guy Connor Votano coming throughPretty radical leap to basically trade your best player for him though.
But hey go for it.
Imagine the Roosters gaining Ponga to take over Teddy next year……
To be honest, I think Ponga would be the one regretting it. I think roosters are on a bit of a slide losing a lot of experience and many recruitment targets rejecting them in recent times. Will be interesting to see how their season goes and wouldn’t be surprised if Ponga does head there that he isn’t offered ridiculous money to make the move with roosters having a lot of money to spend in their salary capThats almost as WTF as the Luka trade.
He should come home to NZ and play for usTo be honest, I think Ponga would be the one regretting it. Kini’s the one I’d try get here and make him the face of the club for the years to come. Certainly wouldn’t say no to Ponga thoughHe should come home to NZ and play for us

Noticed with us over the years that we tend to think that we can leave it all up to a star we’ve got whether that be SJ or RTS as examples in years they’ve been with us. Not sure what the answer is, or whether it’s the player in question trying to do too much, and certainly wouldn’t say no to a marquee signing, but halves or fullback seems like the position that there could be interest in a high profile signing?Man Ponga would be next level for us imo, would put us in top 4-6 I reckon.
It's not crazy money when you think about it...CNK on $500k or so, give him all of CNKs money, give him SJs money that we haven't spent yet and you're most of the way there.
I'd be way more happier giving him that kind of money instead of Brown...
Have you heard something Mr Da Ball?I'm sure that over the off season Bunty was offered to clubs, Souths could have gone for him then ... not now!!!
AFBWhich player switched clubs in 2024 and now realises he made a terrible mistake?
The player - one of the biggest-name signings from last season - isn't happy in his new surroundings and would love nothing better than to return to his old club for 2026.
The former club would take him back in a heartbeat … IF they could find room in the salary cap.
Time will tell.
Wonder who this could be? Some speculating Spencer Leniu
Started off sounding like Spencer Leniu, but have seen Dominic Young’s name too and saw someone say something similar a while back. I think it might be Dom Young wanting back at the knights!
