Team List Dolphins vs Warriors - [Round 11, 2025]

We just look way better upfront and if we can shore up our edges, we got this... Gonna be some hard decisions made if RTS is ready to go, does Webby drop Tuaupiki for RTS or move him in the centres, Tuaupiki doesn't deserve to be dropped, while RTS at centre isn't ideal, but that's where I would head just so we can have our main compliment of forwards in the forwards, Niukore been good up front last few weeks so id put him to bench with Vaimauga, Laban and either Healey/ TMM
I don't recall the Warriors ever having good edge defense in their history!

Good team but I can't see Webby having both TMM and Healey on the bench for this one. I'd suggest that RTS comes into centre, TT and one of Healey/TMM drop out of the side, Capes goes back to centre and Marata drops back onto the bench. So we'll have a bench of Marata, Demi, Laban and Healey/TMM.
Probably just keeping some kind of deception with the RTS return, i would not expect both on the bench, either marata or leka to go back to bench and RTS in, that would likely push healy or TMM out.

Out of the 2 I wouldn't mind healy getting more game time dont know if egan can keep up the big games all year

I think RTS is back but if he is not, MGT is on the reserves for a reason. So either way, Capewah shifts back to the second row and Niukore drops back to the bench and one of Healey/TMM drops out. A Bench of Niukore, Demi, Laban and Healey/TMM suddenly looks a lot better and much too powerful for the phins.

I give DWZ the benefit of the doubt re his rustiness last week. He has the runs on the board to warrant a bit of trust that he will come good with more game time. Also, I do think he (and TT last week) has been getting an unfair proportion of the blame for flaky edge defense. I'd argue that at least part of the issue are numbering issues closer to the middle where we have players, in particular Niukore, who struggle with lateral movement. Just need better communication in defense which is a bit hard to form when injuries are screwing up with combinations in-game. Hopefully there are no disruptive injuries mid-game this week.

I'd love to see Leka into center Capewell to back row Roger to wing Taine drops out and become backup fullback For CNK.

Give Leka more chances to get in one on one situations and he will have the defence shitting bricks.

Roger and DWZ need time playing to get match fit I'd prefer to do this while we have a buffer of wins.

I think Leka could be the star center this team needs.

Run the three fittest forwards and Healey on the bench. If the plan is to reduce Egans minutes do it now to see if works rather than when it may really have to count later in the season.

yes, but im sure they not sitting on their haunches at training worrying about past warrior edge deficiencies :ROFLMAO: ..... they know who the dangermen in the dolphin's backline is,... its upto them to limit or shutdown those dangers as best they can, Our Forwards should do a number on there's hopefully limiting space for there backline... lets hope

Key to the game right there really isnt it.

Katoa is a magician at the best of times. On the back of ruck speed the amount of space he could create for their speedy backs (and the way our edges seem to tractor beam infield) is a tad frightening.

That said our pack has stood up time and again this season, however i do feel at some point the intensity they've playing at has to catch up with them and we may get a flat performance sooner rather than later......im hoping not this week.

I agree. The key will be how long we can hold our intensity for. That second half last game was not good. Hammer likes attacking through that right edge exactly where against the dragons we had the gap between Metcalf and Niukore.

How long we can stay in the grind and how much of a potential lead we can build to hang on to will be of interest. I don't know if we will have enough in the tank to chase down points.

Yeah there was signs last week that the fatigue and intensity of all those close grinds are starting to catch up. Hats off to our guys tho, their just managing to hold on......the resilience has been impressive, but i dont know if its realistic to expect that a team can maintain that week in week out.

Dont think we have enough strike to chase down a big lead, so we definitely want to be a front runner or thereabouts as far as the scoreboards concerned.

It's won up front
Oh captain, my captain
Rock of the Penrith defence
Where you lead
Luka Metakafe, the star
Of Betheleham
Will follow, b Positive
That's also my blood type
But that's not important right now
Unless this were a poem
Which it isn't
I just type like this
Now

I think JFH will pick up the slack if the boys are a bit flat one week, he will be itching to get out there and repay the squad for winning without him, I think him and Clark have added a hard edge to our squad along with Barnett maturing over the last couple years too. We've only got to get through 4 more games before the boys can have a bit of rest with 2 byes in 4 weeks after that.
