Looking at Metcalfs injury, hopefully only mcl looked to be the inside of the knee that went which is the mcl.
If it’s acl, that’s some bullshit luck for him and us. That we lose our 2 best players. After the sharks game I legit thought we could possibly take it out this year.
But even then being realistic we’re not gonna go far with our current backline

Yup if he’s ACL too we can pack up and go home, not our year at all

Given we're a non flashy team who gets our wins by taking oppositions deep into the grind we were our own worst enemy tonight with

1. Errors and
2. Discipline

Dont know why all of a sudden these have crept into our game but the tone was set early with the Niukore drop on our first set of possession, and the constant piggy back penalties we ceded to get Brisbane out of their half and sap energy with more defence was a killer.

The times in the 2nd half when we controlled possession we showed we could apply pressure but it just wasnt for long enough periods.

Also think we werent very smart with how we were rucking out of our end zone.....our constant one out hit ups were getting gang tackled into oblivion and we went nowhere......an early spread now and then just to put some doubt into the defence line please boys.

All areas that will need to be addressed over bye week. Injuries picked up this game certainly hasnt helped but if we can improve on these things im still confident we'll give ourselves the best chance of success.

Disappointing. Not sure what's going on but FMD what has happened to our 2nd phase play. Offloads are non existent and we're not creating any holes through decoys.
Will be looking forward to what Boyd can bring if Metcalf is out but knowing the coach it will be TMM and Healey still in reserves
Very passive on both sides of the ball. We can outgrind weaker teams, but we cant beat an equal or better one

The result of the Luke scans will probably decide our season. Praying its not ACL

Great game to not re-sign Kosi off. I knew he just didn't get targeted enough in his earlier stint this year.

I think it is the copium mate. A CHT and TMM combo is not going to go close to winning a premiership.
With the loss of speed in our halves with Metcalf gone. Would a TMM & a Boyd combo work better for us? Boyd is a structured, Robust type half. TMM offers more speed & ball playing than CHT. Not that Tavita has done anything wrong and has come on leaps & bounds this year. I think TMM benefits our backs more with his ball playing.

I see during the week that tigers ceo Shane Richardson came out in frustration about the lower teams on the table not getting the 50/50 calls, something that’s been widely accepted. I find it interesting that we have a game officiated like that against us being a top 4 side. I’m certainly not excusing our shortcomings and we didn’t really deserve to win but rubbish on the face? Crichton would be penalised every tackle. No halve at the scrum? Just watched the same thing before halftime in dragons/eels game and nothing. There have been games I’ve thought we’ve been on the favourable side of some calls this season but Adam Gee hammered us today I reckon

I think with the cornerstone of our pack Barnett gone, and Metcalf most likely gone as well. We'll be top 8 no doubt if we tidy ourselves up, but a deep season push if it was a possibility feels unlikely.

The pack rallied and got up for the Sharks game for Barnett, but as we've seen the past two weeks thats not sustainable. I knew what we were getting from Fish, so im not surprised as others that are upset. If you look at his numbers they have been trending slowly down the past four years. Without a Leota or Barnett to go off the back off, hes not as effective as he once was. That's not a knock, that's just a fact. But the intangibles he brings to the club and juniors will hopefully pay off in the long run, so im not bothered.

We've been outclassed and out enthused two weeks in a row unfortunately. We earnt our position on the ladder, but we definitely had some luck go our way in some of those close wins. The past two weeks the bounce of the ball and injuries just haven't gone our way. Hopefully Webby can stem the flow over the bye, but weve been dog water after every bye so who knows. The kick chase, low error rate, and discipline is how weve won games this year and that has gone out the window the past two weeks.

Can't really make changes in the forwards as noone can replace Barnett, so we'll have to just make do there. Hope the forum doesn't turn feral if Boyd doesn't look like a Dally M halfback as NSW cup and NRL is a different level completely. But I don't think you can run TMM there with our forward pack getting monstered as he doesn't have the boot like Boyd to get us out of trouble. The old Ford is unfortunately back, which is disappointing. Berry may have been there out of necessity, but he was well off the mark so can't be 100% got completely outclassed by Shibasaki. Hopefully he can stay fit and build back to some form. You have to imagine Taine to fullback for CNK, hope that doesn't leave us with Kosi again as thats not feasible.

They didn't fold in the second half which was atleast pleasing. Other than that, pretty grim with a comprehensive loss and two more injuries. The squad will need to do some soul searching over the bye. At least it will give Webby another couple weeks to work out the make up of the half's going forward.

I thought the Broncos were good in the first half, but imo they were aided by Gee systematically reffing us out of the game for 60mins or so. He was awful today, pedantic and biased spring to mind. First time I've seen Webster display even a bit of frustration in the press conference. He wasn't happy.

The play the ball wasn't reffed consistently all game. Broncos slowed it down expertly which meant we were always in bad field position. Having said that, it looks like we struggle to adapt. Running one out into 4 defenders over and over again was like a replay of last week.

I'm not gonna go in to hard on Kosi, but he looks like he struggles with the speed of first grade. Always a mile behind the play and dawdling into the defensive line.
