Fire him.

Useless coach.
ABSOLUTLY AGREE.

The Warriors have been trending towards The Promised Land of A Wooden Spoon.

And what does this doofus go and do?!

Okay, after the shitshow that was Webby's 2023, last season showed some promise. That 6-66 result give him 2025 to prove he could get The Spoon.

But the way this season's going - and he was teasing with the Vegas performance, but WTF happened in that second half against the Storm?! - Webby needs the Full Support Of The Board NOW!

Yeah you’re about 15 pages too late on this discussion mate..

And regular season.

Regardless, I'll go down swinging that this team is operating with a physicality that is only really rivalled by the Anderson era.
I have heard that you like to go down when you are swinging so that does not surprise me. That 2011 side wasn't bad either on the grinder game

For mine i wouldnt say physicality but more its the effort areas that this years lot is displaying in bucketloads thats the cornerstone where we're sitting atm.

Different game back in the Anderson era of course and he stacked his packs with the Feka's, Villa's, Tooks, Seuseu types which had a different physicality to what we see in the modern game.

But i'd also say Ivans teams which werent stacked with a lot of talent focuused a lot on the effort areas as well led by the Mannering, Luck types

Long winded way of saying i think its probably still too early comparing era's.

Gonna give more credit to Webby

He’s slowly but surely building to something special with this team

My biggest gripe was the bench rotation and minutes given to the rookies.

He’s ticked the boxes in this area with flying colors.

I thought he played Ford too much last two season. Especially as stater. He plugged back those minutes significantly and Ford is still thriving.

Also credit moving Marata to Prop

Don’t know how he’s done it. But as mentioned in my previous post, the penalties and six against have dropped significantly

My only gripe right now -
Still not a fan of not competing for the bombs.

Not a fan of the outside backs tactic to rush in on defence rather than marking your man and letting your inside slide. I understand the stick and release tactic if your insides are not spreading quickly enough you have to rush in to try and kill the play. Problem is you’ll get exposed every time if a tackle isn’t made and we saw this multiple times against the cows. I’m guessing the alternative to a stick and release tactic is the sliding defence approach where the inside slides to cover the player one out from the player standing directly opposite to them. This looks like the most traditional approach such that every opposing player has a marker. I see Cronulla using this style of defence rather than the rush in approach but maybe because they have speed on their wings? Tuapiki has speed on his side. He didn’t need to rush in every time the ball was spread wide. Hang back.

Mid year score card for Webby A-

I think we've been competing for bombs, especially the CHT ones (ie the tries Pompey and Ford scored vs Broncos etc), unless if you are talking about the ones launched from 40-50m out

Kick to Manu!

Kick to Manu!
I seem to recall some forummer creating a Bob Te Manu Warriors joke player, the first player picked on TLT, as the Bomb To Manu was The Play Every Play...

Smack I'm not so sure, grind down yes.
I'd say Grind Down until HT as we appear better at then we've been before and then a quick Smack Around for 10 Minutes. Back to Grind Down for 10 which should put the 2011 boys out on their fee and feeling pretty despondant. Then Smack Around for 20.

On paper this team was bottom 5 heading into the season. Astonishing losses in Tohu/SJ/AFB with able but not equivalent replacements. Then losing Monty, and later Walker with no replacements. Pre season my rating of Webby was a top 8 finish means he's one of the top coaches in the league. A top 12 finish a solid pass.

We're currently 6 - 2 in 3rd while playing most of the current top 8 teams. Unbelievable performance. We've had shit injury luck as well, not as bad as last year's horror show, but certainly worse than average. I feel we fade out of the top 4 before season end when some of the stacked teams get their shit together and go on a run, but we likely comfortably finish in the 8. If Webby gets this squad a home final, he deserves coach of the year far more than Ciraldo.

We've got ourselves a real one here. Seems to be learning from his mistakes. Far less cute with the bench this year. Just like in 2023 everyone seems to be performing at near peak form. Fantastic.

Man I hope people read this and take it in for what it is, truth.

Bro we were facing a hiding to nothing this year in the run up to round one.

Webster has coaching scienced the shit out of it.

I take heed at your warning about us falling away when the top sides click.

My concern is that we are now at terminal failure with injury, I mean when you take one or two of our best out for Origin selection on top of that, it becomes impossible to keep winning....actually impossible.

This is why we are still underdogs with the ratings agencies this weekend against the Dragons, because they are cold light of day financially driven realists who see the Warriors teetering on the edge of a Rabbitohs type injury abyss
