National/Act/NZ First breach the bill of rights against many New Zealanders with utterly flawed legislation changes

Judith Collins points it out quite rightly

Right wing posters on here:

"Commie victims!!"
"What do I pay my taxes for?!? Cut them off!!!"
"Why should I be minorly inconvenienced, oh hang on, not at all, by these scum sucking dole bludging layabout immigrant loving trans treaty warriors!"

Pointing out the ridiculousness of the responses sometimes.
Sure, but seriously - everyone has the opportunity to enrol, if they don’t then that’s on the individual. I’m all for it, the system was being manipulated. Won’t it get rid of political parties rounding up communities & busing them in to vote on instruction?

Does that really happen though? Particularly the vote on instruction?

Here's the rules - https://elections.nz/guidance-and-r...rules-once-voting-starts-and-on-election-day/

Is that different from churches doing exactly the same thing? (Tamaki springs to mind).

The fact that Judith Collins is pointing out the proposed changes break the bora, well that speaks volumes.

It hasn't been a problem before, why is it now? It follows a pattern seen in the u.s., and that follows a pattern of behaviour exhibited by this government in aping Republican tactics.

Let's do like Aussie does and bring in compulsory voting.

Definitely was happening and from all parties. Again if people don’t care enough to enrol then unlikely they’ve given who they vote for sufficient thought either. Let’s leave it to the people that give a shit to determine who’s in power.

Another non event the negative left are making a big deal over.

Australia, Uk, Germany, Sweden, France, Ireland, Greece, etc, etc all can’t enrol on election day. Canada is the only other democracy with same day enrolment.

Don’t know why it’s a big issue for some on here when basically the entire world doesn’t allow same day enrolment.

I didn't think Judith Collins was left leaning and definitely not negative. 😉

It’s a big issue for people that get upset on others’ behalf

People that are truly upset about how the change affects them can enrol before the cutoff date. The rest of affected people don’t care enough
