Not good reading for unemployment
What’s the punishment?A government of callous, soulless neoliberals. Of the rich, for the rich, by the rich.
Throw people out of work, then punish them for being out of work.

On The Government’s Epic Fails In Jobs And Housing
Through its austerity measures, the coalition government has engineered a rise in unemployment in order to reduce inflation while – simultaneously – cracking down harder and harder on the people thrown out of work by its own policies.www.scoop.co.nz
Just reflecting on your comments re IRD, and not wanting to rebut themRubbish. You think I’m jealous of you all you want or anyone with wealth, but it’s not addressing the growing wealth of a few that seems to be lost in translation. The ird has recognised in the past few years that there’s not an even take of tax percentage wise across all and if there was our economies would benefit hugely
‘While I was trying to work out what’s going on’What we're seeing in America could very easily happen here via Act and National

Anne Salmond: Hayek's bastards

Gee Wiz (‘While I was trying to work out what’s going on’
Say it all really… lot of rabbit hole exploration in there.
Thanks NoItAll, lots of questions around how Act were able to suppress this for so long, demanding tough on crime while their president gets extended name suppression, including at a time which would have made it very unpalatable around the election.Stuff

People wanting some answers and justifiably so
Massive leftie concerned about the Act party… yawn.‘While I was trying to work out what’s going on’

What does that even mean any more when we're seeing who the right really are? Come on mate. This is a moral and ethical global problem Fascism is on the rise, it's all on the right, and we're seeing our democracies actively dismantled. By the right. This is who they are.Massive leftie concerned about the Act party… yawn.
if it was as extreme as you portray it to be then it simply wouldn’t get voted in.What does that even mean any more when we're seeing who the right really are? Come on mate. You'd think so eh. If the parties were completely honest it would never be voted in.if it was as extreme as you portray it to be then it simply wouldn’t get voted in.
Trump’s second term simply underlines just how poorly the Democates performed firstly under Obama & then a lot worse under Biden. But I agree with you, the working class that voted Trump in are completely delusional if they think he’s going to be their saviour. You'd think so eh. If the parties were completely honest it would never be voted in.
Turns out the culture war was just another pile of fake shit in a vast domain of fake shit designed to divide and isolate.
Trump is never a working class saviour to save you from the system, drain the swamp, the elites (whatever the fuck that means).
He is the system. He is the swamp. People voted him in
National would never be so brazen, Act are letting the facade slip at times, but they sing from the same playbook
And they actively lie at election time to cover this up.
But they are similar and follow the same plans. Break down democracy. Remove the rules restricting wealth extraction. Gain and retain power indefinitely.
There is a big difference between an MP and a party president. The party president is answerable to the party, and the MP to the electorateThanks NoItAll, lots of questions around how Act were able to suppress this for so long, demanding tough on crime while their president gets extended name suppression, including at a time which would have made it very unpalatable around the election.
There were a LOT of right wingers on here bringing up golriz and running her down - someone who fronted and has paid the price justice wise, and a huge toll socially.
You'd think given the magnitude of this crime, and the ongoing bullying abusive patterns exposed in Act previously, that there would be more interest and discussion.

Interesting reads.
Some are smart enough or fortunate enough to make a fortune in their lifetime, but plenty are from old money and just been fortunate. Someone like trump has had a leg up in this regard all his life, so I don’t see the even playing field that you’re trying to portray in that regard. It’s like nepotism, the amount of hollywood actors that are children of hollywood actors is huge. Perhaps they’re there on their merits, but people in society definitely get leg ups. Some would say the poor you mentioned get a leg up through benefits and the likesAll advantages that the wealthy enjoy are available to poor people. They just can’t afford it.
No structural impediments to opening a family trust or a business.
