Trouble is there’s always been an unwillingness to understand why these gangs have come to be and morphed into crime syndicates after early years as being a family for some. The mongrel mob was birthed out of people in state care that were running amok. Now with a royal commission exposing some of the abuses they endured and were called liars for accusing, it’s no wonder they felt like nobody gave a shit about them. The hells angels birthed out of war veterans returning to no job opportunities. We now have well over 8000 gang members if stats are to be believed with consecutive governments blaming each other for the rises in their respective terms, but surely we’re not giving no consideration to the 501 situation. It just feels like we continue in a history repeating cycle. These people are rejected from a country they live, some deserving, and sent to a country many have no links to apart from early years and no support network other than the gang waiting at the airport to recruit. It’s not like gangs have just arrived and what’s been tried hasn’t worked. Gang patch bans didn’t work last time and they won’t work this time.
