That is a crazy statistic when birth control is so readily available, often free and can be taken well in advance of intercourse. It shows a gross lack of planning and ignorance.
Yeah it’s insane. And every “healthcare” argument is actually false. Abortion is very specifically the termination of a healthy foetus meaning ectopic and other pregnancy complications aren’t even included because they aren’t “healthy”.

The abuse statistics are minuscule as well like less than 0.1%.

Then I read a chilling passage from an orthodox priest; “Elective abortion is simply child sacrifice”

Yeah, absolutely crazy the amount of women and children who get pregnant from rape but haven't planned birth control with that situation in mind. Fuck me some of you cunts are retarded
Can you tell me what percentage of raped women and children are represented in the statistic posted by MFW?
My guess is you can't so you will revert to childish insults which is your usual response. Make a New Years resolution to apply critical thinking before making a fool of yourself.

One in 20 women in the US have experienced a pregnancy through rape.

It's quite hard to find recent data on how many abort, as the data I can find is 20 years old.

This kind of comment I really struggle with. Why do people make the jump from banning gang patches to there will be no crime? It's another tool to help target gangs which I think is great and we have already seen it being used for that purpose. According to the stats 25% of crime is done by the gangs so a huge amount by very few people. That does still leave 75% to tackle from the rest of the population and there will always be crime committed.
Trouble is there’s always been an unwillingness to understand why these gangs have come to be and morphed into crime syndicates after early years as being a family for some. The mongrel mob was birthed out of people in state care that were running amok. Now with a royal commission exposing some of the abuses they endured and were called liars for accusing, it’s no wonder they felt like nobody gave a shit about them. The hells angels birthed out of war veterans returning to no job opportunities. We now have well over 8000 gang members if stats are to be believed with consecutive governments blaming each other for the rises in their respective terms, but surely we’re not giving no consideration to the 501 situation. It just feels like we continue in a history repeating cycle. These people are rejected from a country they live, some deserving, and sent to a country many have no links to apart from early years and no support network other than the gang waiting at the airport to recruit. It’s not like gangs have just arrived and what’s been tried hasn’t worked. Gang patch bans didn’t work last time and they won’t work this time. There’s an unwillingness for the state to accept responsibility as to why many of these groups have come to be

I think that there has to be more than one approach. Giving the police more powers to target gangs is certainly one of them in my opinion and we have seen quite a step change in the last 6 months or so in regards to how the police approach gangs. I agree with you that there needs to be better understanding and intervention earlier in the life of some of these people.

In regards to 501's Do we toughen up and make a big call when it comes to people moving overseas and gaining citizenship by rescinding NZ citizenship when that happens?

I shit you not, I am reconsidering my stance on the bible. It seems that humanity as a whole needs pretty strong guard rails. Maybe we are starting to forget how many failed civilisations it took to even reach the time of Christianity.
Yeah maybe we do need fear of gods for social engineering, wish there was a better way. The Enlightenment in Europe was a rejection of medieval superstition though, before that it was pretty grim under the yoke of popes and Enquisitors. Have you taken the leap of faith to believe in the religion or are you just coming around to it as a tool of social control?

More like a pathetic politician trying to get some air/traction by standing by a potentially flawed bill.
We see it over and again.
But the legislation was flawed in the first place, parents were getting away with GBH. It was clearly signalled no one would be prosecuted for normal disciplinary smacking, and no one was were they? I think she was vilified for trying to do a good thing, "they're trying to take away our parental rights!". It was bullshit and many fell for the spin. That's my covid-addled memory of it.

Sounds like the problem is men.
Certainly represented high in violent crime and domestic abuse, but I really don’t know? Poor role models? An intertwined world where what’s acceptable in their country of origin isn’t acceptable in their adopted country? Think there’s so many plausible explanations, and probably many factors? Women also are abusers in domestic abuse but on a much smaller scale

Sue Bradford was a list Green party member who invoked the no smacking bill The law wasn't working imo but soon became worse
